At the time Jackie was in a sweater and covered up all the way to her neck, so you definitely couldn’t see anything. I was just curious. I know that these sorts of curious thoughts should be ignored, but it was late at night and I really wasn’t thinking. If you think I should I’ll confess it this week in confession, simply stating it as “Looking at women lustfully”, but I really don’t think lust had anything to do with it. I’m just terribly scrupulous and I’m always worried about it.
It doesn’t “celebrate” these things, nor does it endorse these things. If anything, it makes a lot of jokes about idiots who indulge themselves in drug abuse and such. I’ve never once had a near-occasion of sin when watching the show. In fact, when compared to the stuff shown on MTV, That '70s Show seems almost worthy of being on EWTN. It doesn’t, of course, but the show is actually quite mild when compared to many other shows. I would still cry tears of disappointment if it was shown on EWTN though.
So you’re saying that if I commit a sin that I know is a sin but committed anyway, and then later found out it was Mortal, it’s not a Mortal sin?
That doesn’t make sense. If you later found out it was Mortal, the obviously it is Mortal…
Well, I meant that if I committed a sin that I knew was a sin, but then later found out it was a Grave sin, did it still count as a Grave sin?
My prayer for you is that you can be a happy young person who can have fun and laugh at an old sitcom and not be worried constantly about sinning every second of the day. Have you talked with any of your buddies about feeling guilty all of the time? Sometimes a good friend or school chum your same age can talk you through the hard times.
