Was Touchdown Jesus a false Christ?

It is well known that God’s favorite College Div-1 football team is the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Thier calling this otherwise beautiful and inspiring statue “Touchdown Jesus” must have clearly been an afront to God. So, no, they should not rebuild. 😉
 
People get struck by lightning all the time. 🤷 Does that mean God likes to randomly strike people? :ehh: And how about all those other natural disasters? Does God cause them? Nope. :dts: If you’re going to a flammable statue outside in open, lighting’s going to strike it.

And then kaboom! Its blows up. I’m believe in God deeply but please :dts:
 
You might want to go back and read the OP. It was meant in a light hearted manner as was my retort. Well, somewhat. Notre Dame is God’s favorite college football team.

maybe the destruction of touchdown jesus was a warning to nortre dame to regain it catholic identity or else it will go down in flames just like the statue.

Well, I guess if you consider having God as your number one fan as cheating maybe so. But, you notice that ND doesn’t win every game. This is meant to keep other team in the football business. If ND won all the time, it wouldn’t be fun for the other teams. So once again we see that God is merciful indeed.

I fear we are guilty of hijacking this thread. We should continue in the College footbal forum in the Catholic Sports Fans Group. See you there!!

Wake up the echoes old Notre Dame…
