Considering the thinking of Pope Leo XIII behind his composition and installation of the prayer to St. Michael after Mass in 1884, wasn’t the widespread and constant recitation of this prayer after low Masses in a community setting strategically intended to at least mitigate the increasing power of Satan, and to increase awareness of his malicious designs, and therefore, necessary?
1 Peter 5:8 tells us, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Also, conclude what you may, but it is interesting to note that, based on my research on the Survivor’s Network of those Abused by Priests website, that Vatican II’s suppression of the prayer to St. Michael and the unprecedented upsurge in the clergy abuse scandal and cover-up seem to have a striking correlation.
It seems quite clear that the reason why it is no longer part of tradition in many parishes is because of Satan’s cunning influence, which led to Vatican II’s lifting of Pope Leo XIII’s order to recite the prayer as a Christian community after all low Masses. Sadly, many of those who have posted here seem ignorant of Satan’s seemingly obvious machinations. I mean, it is OBVIOUS that Satan did not want this prayer to be continued to prayed after all low Masses as a Christian community as Pope Leo XIII ordered for OBVIOUS reasons.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11)
