Washington State Pharmacists Forced to Dispense Plan B Drug Thanks to Court

Olympia, WA (LifeNews.com) – Pharmacists in Washington state may soon be forced to dispense the morning after pill thanks to a ruling out today by a federal appeals court. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a lower court ruling that had temporarily put on hold a requirement for pharmacists to dispense all legal drugs.

Under pressure from pro-abortion Gov. Chris Gregoire, the pharmacy board approved rules in 2007 making pharmacists dispense all drugs, including those that would violate their moral or religious views.

Those drugs could include the morning after pill, also known as Plan B, which can sometimes cause an abortion.

Please pray that the state of Washington is unable to do this and that people nationwide would stand up for those in Washington who are pro-life that they would not be forced to dispense the Plan B pill which is abortifacient.

If pharmacists are required by law to despense all legal drugs, then not only would pharmacists, including Catholic pharmacists and others having moral objections to the drugs, be required to dispense Plan B, they would also, in states which have legalized assisted suicide, be required to dispense suicide pills to patients with prescriptions for them.

And I think getting a majority to fight abortion is more likely than getting a majority to fight legalized assisted suicide.

Hmm, I never really thought about it. So you think that it’s possible to convince most people not to kill unborn children, but less possible to convince them not to help the old or the sick and disabled to kill themselves?

I’ve known of a few local people, even parishioners, who committed suicide. That can be due to a lot of causes, mostly depression. It’s quite another thing to require docs and pharmacists to be complicit in it.

I can see the commercials now: "Life got you down? Ask your doctor if Plan T* is right for you.

*Termination. I can’t wait to hear the mandatory list of possible side effects.
