Wasn't Luther complaining about a relatively small portion of the Church?

Why aren’t you checking out Catholic sources for what you are claiming was a Catholic practice?

Why not check out the articles on “Indulgences” and “the Reformation” at www.newadvent.org instead?

New Advent is the site of the Catholic Encyclopedia.
Well now that would be bias, no?
why not indepent sources?

you can research this yourself or just not believe it.🙂

Is the Church just the building or the people in it?
I did read the info at the link - it does not say that the Church sold indulgences. As I am now learning, the truth is that there was corruption - but the Church did not teach that sins were forgiven in exchange for money.

Now, on your question of “Church” - the answer, as I understand it, is “Neither.” The Church is the institution that Jesus built upon Peter, who was given the keys. When Jesus said that the gates of hell will not prevail against it, he was talking about something other than a building or the people inside.

No, it would not be bias.

Would you go to the Pepsi web site to check out Coke products because checking Coke’s OWN site would be ‘biased?’

If your two websites are the limit of your ‘research’ on the subject and you haven’t even looked at ONE Catholic source, your research is unbalanced, not unbiased.
