catholics also preach as well in public. i have done it myself. catholics are also missionaries that help feed the poor and preach the good news in the world. while witnesses do preach in the street they do not give money to the poor.

Hi,
May I ask you a question?😃 You said you have gone out and preached the Good News to people.👍 Can I ask you what you say and how you get started?😃

Im just curious.:o What kind of responses have you received from people?

Thanks—you can PM me if you would rather.👍

😦 Reminds me when down here in Charleston, there would be preachers on the corner of Meeting Street preaching the gospel. Every Saturday, there were two preachers on the corner reaching out to people, and of course they stopped it. 😦

Has there ever been a JW hospital or soup kitchen built ???

absolutely you can ask! i go out on a sunday, or any day to houses, bus stops, i’ve even had conversations in the parking lot. people know iam a catholic right off by my rosary, or they see my scapular and we talk from there. its light hearted conversation at first, then we start talking about faith, and how Jesus is God and it goes from there. i have not experienced any negativity. questions yes, but negative attitude? no.

I think it’s wondeful to see people go out and talk with others about their faith.

In a typical month, 6.5 to 7.0 million JW’s are out there doing that.

I think that if TraditionalCath is one of the few Catholics doing that, it’s great.

I’d encourage more people to try it. It would likely be an eye-opening and humbling experience.

something at least we agree upon.

Actually Catholic groups such as The Legion of Mary and The Legionaries of Christ go out from door to door sharing their faith regularly.

In my opinion, there is nothing like someone approaching a perfect stranger to talk about the Bible that really reveals what’s in the listeners heart.

I have been absolutley thrashed by people who tell me their Christian. It’s amazing how someone call be yelling insults at the top of their lungs, can be saying “I’m a Christian and you’re not!”

Did this instruction, training, motivation, to go out and preach come from your Catholic Training?

I’m curious, how many people here have had a Catholic approach them at their door or in the informal ministry?

And then, how many people have been approached be one of JW’s?

How many people can say they’ve never been approached by one of JW’s?

Actually the JWs taught me how to speak in public. It has served me well. Unfortunately, the content that I was taught about Christianity by the JWs was and still is false.

Now that I have come to know the fullness of the Christian faith in the Catholic Church, I use the gifts that God has given me to the best of my ability in order to teach the Catholic faith to others including my JW friends and relatives when the opportunity arises.

i don’t know. lots of people are approached not just by jw’s, but mormons as well. my husband was never approached by a jw until he came to canada.

In my experience, I have only been approached by JW’s and Mormons.

Never by anyone else.

none. so when my friend invited me to come by when some JW’s were making a return visit to study the Bible with them, i gladly accepted. unfortunately i asked a tough question about authority on interpretation and scared them off. they haven’t returned since.
