Watch Out for Novus Ordo Watch...

I was searching the internet for the Latin version of mass and came across the website of an organization called Novus Ordo Watch. A lot of you may be familiar with them, but for those of you who are not, they basically deny that Pope Benedict XVI is actually the Pope and complain about pretty much everything that has to do with VII. It surprises me that these people can take their own claims seriously. Jesus promised that his Church would never fail. If what they are saying is true, we actually have no Pope, most of the masses around the world are invalid, and the Church is leading the very souls Jesus put it in charge of straight to Hell. That to me would suggest that the Church has failed. People who promote these kinds of ideas seem to hold so tightly to tradition (small t) that they forget that tradition evolves. Mass has not always been it Latin. The very first was in Arabic. The Eastern Catholic Churches celebrate their liturgy very different than the Latin Rite, but that doesn’t make their Eucharist invalid. The site quotes Our Lady of Fatima, saying that heresy in the Church will start from the top and indeed, it has. Cardinals, bishops, and priests all over the world promote heresy of every flavor. But the Church as a whole cannot fail, which means that God would not allow a fake Pope to lead a billion souls to eternal damnation.

If you go to this site catholicculture.org/index.cfm they keep a web site review database that is pretty good at warning against both rad-trads and liberal dissenters. NO Watch got a red flag from them.

You’re quite right about Novus Ordo Watch, but can I ask what you would cite as to your assertion that the first Mass was in Arabic? I’m not one of these that insists that it was in Latin (I doubt it was), but do you mean Aramaic? Hebrew?

I have seen Novus Ordo Watch quoted a number of time by a radical traditionalist on another board. This site has no redeeming value.

who is actually Father Lucien Pulvermacher, OFM.

Novus Ordo Watch is a sedevacantist website, so people may not much care for their commentary, but I can’ t find any fault with their news storys, which are direct links to actual stories and are, unfortunately, accurate.

A typical sedevecantist website. Truecatholic is another, but the best by far has to be Traditio It has got more **** on it then you could shake a stick at. If you just read it without knowing, you would think it speaks the literal truth. Sometimes, you can pick up a little good info there, but usually :bigyikes: KEEP AWAY

Oh and by the way, the first Mass was probably in either Aramaic if all the Disciples spoke that, there were several languages in that area, and by all accounts the dialect around Galilee was difficult to understand, or Hebrew and possibly Greek. While I am sure that Christ himself spoke Latin, at least enough to deal with the Romans, I would doubt that he and his followers would routinely speak it.

Web sites like the one you mentioned and others, Traditio etc, should not be trusted to tell the whole truth as they definitely have an agenda.

Everyone knows that modernism is the worst thing that ever happened to the True Faith. The main modernists however go unscathed! Joseph Ratzinger is the godfather of them all. He has been this way from away back. He knows he is this way and is still bound and determined to do all he can to further the aims of modernist heresy. A heretic is not a Catholic and you have to be a Catholic to be a Pope. Period. Go read. No one can say Joseph Ratzinger is unaware of how he is: He has a Ph.D! Res ipsa loquitur! Wake up! What are people thinking? We have modernism because of modernists; they have been stinking up the place since the 1830’s and before. They are rationalists. God help them. They throw themselves out of the Catholic Faith by their heresy, by the way they think and believe. They don’t need any formal process to be launched against them.

Did Traditio finally go Sed? I used to read his e-mail replies back in 2000. At the time he seemed balanced, but then became more and more bitter. I didn’t know he finally went Sedevacantist.

I do not agree. Pope Benedict strikes me as someone who is trying to bring the Church back to a more traditional path, but he has to work within the system, changes cannot happen overnight. I suggest you actually read some of his writings before making that statement.
