Hello. I have a question that maybe some computer genius somewhere might hopefully be able to answer for me: I was watching films that are free online, as I thought it would be nice to catch up on some classic epics and maybe some religious films etc, and youtube does not always have everything one needs on there. So I’ve been doing this over the bank holiday weekend. It is nice. I don’t have a TV license anymore and instead watch ondemand - programmes that are in the past - and get movies through the post, but I recently read that in 2014 it became legal for people to watch movies for free online - streamlining them not downloading. The EU ruled in 2014 that this was fine! Now I don’t waste time with computer games but do like movies. And after watching a few, Google said, when I was searching for another classic, that I had to fill in a catchya box as I was misusing the service! And then cheekily gave me a list of their rules and regulations. I thought: what business is it of yours, Google is not the whole internet, mind your own! But am I missing something here? I did not type in the box and instead deleted my cookies, however, I’m too worried to watch anymore movies online now - I did want to watch Star Wars - and even in youtube now the service seemed to not be playing what I was searching for. It is very annoying. Is it maybe because Google doesn’t like the EU telling them what is and what isn’t?! I don’t like monopoly companies and Google is one of them. Do I have to worry or can I go ahead and watch Star Wars for free without concern?
Grrr…red tape…grrr.
