Is it a sin to watch movies that I find uploaded to YouTube or other websites, since I do not own them?

I see no problem with it. I don’t have cable, but I can get ETWN on the internet. I’ve watched a bit of it, and plan to watch it more. It isn’t like you’re stealing it.

If you mean movies as in Star Wars or Gladiator, then yes because the copyrights are being violated.

If you mean movies as in Bob’s Card Tricks or Watch This Explode! (like most movies on YouTube), then no because they are not copyrighted.

Not sure if you have it in the USA, but in the UK we have most TV shows put online by the channel themselves, that is totally okay to watch. But yes if it’s a pirated version of copyrighted material then yes it is sinful

I never thought of that 😊 .

were they placed their legally? then you can watch them. Do you know or have strong reason to believe they are they illegally, then in watching them you cooperate in the sin of another.

What if you are watching a copywrited movie online for free from the U.S, Canada or U.K, but it is being supplied from a country that does not agree to international copywright laws?

Since when are copyright laws issues of morality? Do we have a moral obligation to not allow our children to drink any alcohol prior to their 21st birthday?

I don’t think things are as cut and dry as if it’s illegal, then it’s immoral.
