Watching my wife staying sick

I am sad, I watch my wife not get any better, and not getting any worse. I am not sure how to help her. Should I outlive my wife ( approx. 50% chance ) I probably will never marry again. The whole experience has soured me. It seems all I can do is watch her in pain, notwithstanding what I try to do for her.

May I ask what is the illness? And you are both in my prayers as well…I’m so sorry you have this trial right now.

Oh my heart goes out to you. Its so painful for a man to watchhis beloved in pain and not be able to fix it. I have chronic illness, and my husband knows the likely hood of us growing old together, even though we romanticize about it, is probably not going to happen. We both know it but never say it.

I’m not in constant pain, but when I have been in great pain I can see how deeply it effects my poor husband who so badly wants to fix it.

I will pray for you and your wife. Time is precious thing. Try not waste it on disagreements that truly don’t matter in the long run.
