It should be required viewing. We live in a brutal world. Sticking your head in the sand does not change reality. It is one thing to read about the Passion, It is another to watch the supreme sacrifice made for our salvation.

If watching this gives you nightmares, it is a good thing. I am sure Jesus didn’t enjoy the experience at Calvary done out of love for you. You owe it to Him to try to fully understand the extent of His sacrifice. (Short of physically experiencing it, of course.)
+1. I think this film is one everybody should view. The story of our LORD has been prettied up for mass consumption, but pretty, it was not.

But, but, but, peeps, bunnies, eggs, and flowers, That’s all that is needed in today’s world. If only someone gave Isis a peep…

Is it possible you are asking this question to discourage people from viewing the film? The child in question is a teenager after all, not a toddler. With all Christian charity I am asking this as I question your motives, you have participated in another forum where you are actively discouraging others in the faith.

You are participating on the Sacred Scripture forum in a discussion where you are promoting an atheist’s you tube video, you have been bold in your assertion that the Gospels are fake, that the Gospels writers fabricated stories and cannot be trusted.

While you are free to do this and participate here, it would be fair and honest to participate and engage in dialogue where motives are candid. Have you seen the film? I have, and so have my children. I would caution viewing for children under the age of 10, but over that age the film can be powerful. As always, parents should discern what is best for their child. As with this and all films it won’t be for everyone as is evident by the discussion taking place some people don’t care for it.

It is a hard film to watch due to the violence in it in my opinion. It is a well done movie, and a story that has to be told too. It is too much for young kids to watch but most teens could handle watching it if advised ahead of time about some of the things they will see.
