Water from Lourdes?

Hi all,

I just received a bottle of precious water from Lourdes in a plastic bottle of Our Lady. I have it up right next to our Sacred Heart statue. Any ideas on how to use it? Should I just leave it alone reserving it only for extreme illness? Should I bless my 3 yr old, almost 2 yr old, and 4 month old with it? Any ideas? Thanks.

I don’t have any suggestions for it’s use, but do not forget that no matter how tightly the lid is on, the water will evaporate over time.

The water from Lourdes comes from the place where Our Lady said “wash in the spring”. The spring is the symbol of Christ, the Living Water.

If I were you I would use the water in faith to bless the children often, put them in Our Lady’s care and pray for them that they always seek Christ.

Yes, by all means, use it! 🙂
If/when you run out, you can always write the organization and ask for more. We know they won’t run out of Lourdes Water. 😉
I’ve done it, myself. Even gave a few bottles away.

Of course, they may ask for a small donation to help with their costs and their ministry, but that’s to be expected.

What a wonderful gift! My parents brought back water from Lourdes a couple of years ago and gave us a bottle. We have used it many times in the last couple of years!
 
A long time ago I died and was given water from Lourdes on the head and ears, (I had a head injury) and miraculously I came out of a coma and am now alive with no problems 42 years latter.
God bless, it is for that reason you have mentioned.
In loveing your children and husband you are loving your self that is how Jesus loved himself, by loving others.

I also wanted to post if anyone is interested that you can receive a Free bottle of water from Lourdes from the Oblate Missions website. I sent for mine and received it quickly.

Thank you so much for posting the link. I was blessed to receive a bottle of this water for my mother (who has cancer) from someone at church who went to France. Mom has been totally pain-free even though her disease was already quite advanced when it was discovered. We believe this is a miracle although we will continue to pray for full recovery if it is God’s will.

I know other people with whom I’ve wanted to share this miraculous water, but I didn’t know how to obtain it.

This is a WONDERFUL organization! I also got my Lourdes water from them. I have ordered rosaries, jewelry, crucifixes, etc. and have had a wonderful experience every time!

I used the water to bless my children. So I definitely agree with everyone else, USE IT!!! 🙂

Awesome…I am so glad to have a link… cause some can say it is from Lourdes, but your taking them on their word and ya neva know these days! When we did the family blessing the other night, the water had the slightest scent of roses. I think it was from the lid. Sooooo comforting!

Like everyone else said - thanks. I am on their page now, and I have a question. The sites says:
Our Lady of Lourdes first instructed Bernadette to “Go drink of the spring there, go wash in it”. Shortly after a spring of water came forth. Since that time thousands continue to flock to the spring to be cured of ills. This Lourdes holy water is highly treasured for it’s miraculous healing powers.

I have never heard of drinking holy water before and I’m just asking if other people have done it and is it OK? I thought I was taught many years ago that it was not OK. I ask because of a health condition. thanks

I don’t know what happened, but I also tried to get some Lourds water but because I’m not in US of A I could not finish the questionair, : :crying: :nope : so no water???

There is a link that Philroussel gave, maybe try that. Or google “Lourdes Water” and see what you get. Worse comes to worse PM me and I will send for some and then send it to you. Where there’s a will there’s a way.😉

Be at peace “littleone”. Our Blessed Mother and our Lord Jesus Christ hears your prayers whether you have Lourdes water or not.
Sacramentals are good because they help us focus on the Lord; but if one is not available you needn’t be sad. (Lourdes Water).

When the spring appeared at the apparition site at Lourdes, Our Lady said “Wash in the Spring”. The Spring is a symbol of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who washes away our sins when we come to Him in repentance and love.
