Most Islamic terrorists are proud to proclaim their membership and their goals.
I find that hard to believe. Normally, people hide things that can get them in trouble. If they’re so proud and open, why do they wear masks in the videos they make? How come they plead innocent when taken to court? Where do you get your information?
The Left is the home of atheism and socialism. Are these your friends?
Atheism and socialism have grown and prospered under Republican presidents and Congress. George W. Bush’s WMD lies resulted in a victory for big government and a loss for Christians. Iraq has lost half its Christian population, since then and while Bush was president. Same-sex marriage has come to America, since then and while Bush was president.

Most leftists are pro abortion, pro gay marriage, anti clerical, and anti individual liberty.
The Left is primarily identified with secularism and socialism. I know that there are exceptions, but they are a small minority.

It is very easy to believe. Read the statements of any captured al qaeda terrorist. KSM bragged about cutting off Daniel Pearl’s head, for example. If you want the truth it is easily available.

Is this a misleading statement?

*The document indicates that 13,000 chemical bombs were dropped by the Iraqi Air Force between 1983 and 1988, while Iraq has declared that 19,500 bombs were consumed during this period. Thus, there is a discrepancy of 6,500 bombs. The amount of chemical agent in these bombs would be in the order of about 1,000 tonnes. In the absence of evidence to the contrary, we must assume that these quantities are now unaccounted for. *

How about this?
There are strong indications that Iraq produced more anthrax than it declared, and that at least some of this was retained after the declared destruction date.*

The statement is from Hans Blix one month before the Iraq War started.

Chemical weapons and biological weapons are definitely WMD, and that is what he is referring to.

I don’t know if there is an exact definition, but I don’t think it applies to conventional weapons.

Are these the sort of things you need to tell yourself to help you sleep at night? According to Wikipedia, KSM “told American interrogators he would not answer any questions until he was provided with a lawyer, which was refused to him”. KSM was tortured for confessions, and he confessed to many things that he probably had nothing to do with.
Gibberish.
Bush didn’t lie. You apparently have been given some bad information.
Don’t insult my intelligence.

Maybe you’re trying to reconcile Bush’s claims with no WMDs being found. Aside from that being an inexcusable mistake, people familiar with Bush’s evidence cannot agree that Bush mistakenly followed misleading information. He lied.

Yes, it is a misleading statement.

It is unrealistic to expect accurate accounting for all things, even in good circumstances. But, for years, Iraq was besieged by chaos and bombings (including the US bombing suspected WMD storage facilities). One purpose of the UN weapons inspections was to determine the cause of the discrepancies. They never did find evidence that this discrepancy was a result of Saddam trying to hide the weapons.

What really puts the lie to this claim about these unaccounted for chemical weapons is that these chemicals have a relatively short shelf-life. Time had destroyed them, even if they were not otherwise destroyed. Everyone one of Bush’s qualified advisers knew these chemicals were long past their expiration dates. So, as expected, when remaining crumbs of Saddam’s former chemical weapons stockpile were found by US forces, they were practically inert (intelligence reports used the term “degraded”).

Bush lied. Big government won. Christians lost.

Bush lied. Big government won. Christians lost.
Let me fix that for you:

Bush -]lied /-]relied upon bad intel that fooled every other world leader throughout the 90s and up to 2002, as well. Big government won. Christians and the Conservative Movement lost.

Or, alternatively, all of those WMDs were moved to Syria in convoys detected in the beginning of 2003.

One of the two.

BTW, Big Government really won not as a result of Iraq, but as a result of the race between Bush and the Congressional Democrats to established the biggest security infrastructure possible in the immediate wake of the 9-11 aircraft strikes.

The establishment of DHS and DNI were as a direct result of that event, not as a result of Iraq. The only result of the occupation of Iraq was to bleed our troops out.

Why do you think every leader was “fooled”. Bush couldn’t get a UN resolution to support an attack on Iraq (breaking his word to do so). He knew if he called for a vote, he’d lose.
Someone saw a few trucks on the road and that proves that Saddam had WMDs and that he was moving them? Someone saw these trucks but didn’t try to find out where they were going? Why has no disgruntled Syrian or Iraqi driver or warehouse worker tried to get rich by revealing where the WMDs are hidden?

Are you looking for evidence, or for excuses?

For Iraq, the result of the invasion was to make it open season on Christians. Now, most of the Christians are gone. For the US, the Iraq war meant more economic trouble. And, it meant ceding cultural ground to Liberals, because conservatives (who really aren’t conservative) were preoccupied with throwing America into the Iraqi meat grinder, or as Dick Cheney called it, the Iraqi “cakewalk”.

Actually, I was going to agree with you on the matter, but since you’re going to be such an __(fill in the blank) about it, I won’t.

I think I’ll side, instead, with Gilbert and say waterboard all the bums. But not just AQ. Waterboard anybody who dares go against the US government. And will also go with the porno scanners and Patriot Act and anything else necessary to disrupt the civil liberties of the American Public. Hopefully they implement full FCC control of the Internet so that unsupportive political speech is taken off the Internet.

Onward and Upward to the Police State!!!

Sorry, I’m so accustomed to dealing with psychopaths who apparently don’t care about facts and reason, but just want excuses for something as horrible as war and other forms of barbarism.

Hans Blix provided the evidence that Iraq was not complying with UN resolutions:

*The document indicates that 13,000 chemical bombs were dropped by the Iraqi Air Force between 1983 and 1988, while Iraq has declared that 19,500 bombs were consumed during this period. Bush wasn’t lying. His critics were and are lying, however.

WWJD?..He probably would cry knowing that people think it is okay even when trying to save lives.👍

Why would he be opposed to saving innocent lives?

Do you also think Jesus would be opposed to a war to liberate slaves or free Jews from the Nazis?

Waterboarding is torture and your two examples don’t measure up to it at all.

Worse things than waterboarding happen to people in war.

If it’s OK to blow off someone’s legs in a just war why isn’t it OK to waterboard a terrorist to save innocent lives?

There have been no wars to liberate slaves or free Jews from Nazis (at least that the US has been involved in). Jesus would also oppose telling lies about WMDs as an excuse to attack a peaceful country.

Chestertonrules, except those who want to drop bombs on people for the fun of it, there are other solutions.

What other solutions would you have proposed for ending the reign of the Nazis in Europe.
