You fail to realize that there are more important things than perpetuating the human race. Even more importantly, you do not recognize that God is in control of all these events. No situation will ever occur that isn’t part of His Will and His Plan. Who knows? Perhaps God will employ one of these scenarios to bring about the end of civilization and Jesus’ return!

You are free to continue formulating these hypothetical situations where one’s vows and vocation or a physical situation exclude the possibility of marriage and therefore exclude the possibility of licit reproduction, but they are irrelevant to the Truth of the Gospel and the rules imposed in order to give us freedom. As Jesus said, “The man was not created for the Sabbath; Sabbath was created for man.” In the same sense, man was not created to obey the rules; the rules were created to set us free.

A perfect example of this is laws imposed by the government. Can you imagine the chaos that would ensue without laws? Everyone would be a slave to fear, to the people who demonize and terrorize the rest of the world. Satan and his minions do exactly that. Once we stray from the rules, we’re on his turf, and we become a slave to him and his desires. That is not freedom!

I just read someone’s very good analogy to explain how rules can give us freedom. Is a train more free on or off the train track? Perhaps it is theoretically more free off the track, but once the train leaves the track, the only result is a train wreck. The same things happens with our lives when we stray from the straight and narrow.

As for me, I prefer to avoid the train wreck.

Better extinction and eternal life than the prospect of facing eternal damnation.

So far, bottom line, if we use Buffalos Island, we get two extinction scenarios

. One is all male, so no chance, the other mixed gender…but still no chance, just extinction.
Why do you find this such an unacceptable scenario? Extinction is only the end of this life existance.

This stuff starts with religion and institutionalised homophobia. It leads to bombs, murders, floggings and beheadings even today.

I dont, you’ll have to talk to Buffalo and other posters as to why extinction is such a bad thing. I am merely representing his scenarios where the same outcome occurs.

it is not me that insists having babies is important. I dont. But Buffalo thinks its important.

As for personal interest, I knew Cinders for 14 years, and i left the pub 7 minutes before the bomb went off (I was visiting cinders to see how the job was going and congratulate him on his promotion).

You are dead on. The fact is, ultimately, our time here is nothing more than a holding pattern. In VERY simple terms, it boils down to

1. If we make it to Heaven, we win.
2. If we end up in hell apart from our Lord, we lose.

The details in between are instantly irrelevant. This thread smacks of putting too much stock into our earthly lives, when the ONLY reason we even exist here is to find out way to God.
