I for my part wish to commend CA for a successful transition to a new format, which is a difficult undertaking: any transition between software platforms is. The old stuff was, well, old, and had to go, for the same sorts of reasons Microsoft has abandoned IE 6. Speed. Security. Maintenance issues. Times change and software changes faster than time. There is not going back. People should accept that CA has done what they think is best and don’t know all the issues.

Of old there was camaraderie in the Clubhouse, which I lurked amused. People could lay down their weapons and sing a song in fellowship, and I would hope there is room for that. But it seems that for now, at least, the curmudgeons have not been suppressed but have won. Mudgies Forever, as they would say, and may their kind never fail from the earth. EVERYONE is acting like a curmudgeon, so it seems. Well done, whoever the leader of that group is.

Some of y’all will complain no matter what, I think. Others will make the best of the situation. Others will complain and make the best of the situation and have fun on the way. I hope to see some of the strengths of the old CAF be retained. One of those was the Clubhouse.

The mudgies have migrated beyond the back fence into the new territory of Family Life. Will they be able to stay there without being told that they are too grumpy to be in the Family Life forum? Only the mods can tell.

But, your right, the curmudgeonly Catholics have been turned loose from their former “quarters”(aka, the lunatic asylum) 😡 and are now mingling in the general population. God help the designers of this new CAF to realize that the mudgies need a secure forum devoted to silliness in which to be grumpy.

Both of you are funny. And correct. I’m feeling rather mudgie-esque right now. I’m half-way between, “Get off my lawn!” and "I would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for those meddling kids!!"😬

The new platform accepts my emojis and that’s a good thing.
 
I have communicated with the mudgies, who seem a decent sort. Indeed, they have been let loose upon the forum. Soon there will be colonies everywhere. We shall see moderators in quarantine suits corralling them into some asylum or another, I expect. Can you imagine some of those games popping up in World News, or Spirituality?
 
I really dislike this new format. It is much worse than before. How do you quote people. Where is the time and date?

There is stuff on a menu bar whey you are writing a post. I have not yet really explored it yet.

I just found that if you hover over the text for how long ago it was posted, it will display the time and date when it was posted.

And you are on a mobile or tablet, tap over how long ago it was posted and the date/time and other details will appear in a box; tap the “X” to close the box.

I’m really liking it now, and find it vastly more attractive and navigable.

Obviously, the major change is that it works well on mobile devices - which is a necessity, and way overdue.

The only problem is the new “feel good”, static emojis.

I decided to pop in over here for awhile.

That OTHER curmudgeon thread was getting too full of romance and matchmaking! 🤢 🤮

I like this place – smells musty and unused. SoE was bringing in vanilla scented candles and romantic music for herself and her new disco-beau-bot. Completely destroyed the old, irritating ambience the place used to have.

I dumped my son’s dirty socks, and the paper towels we used to clean up the dog mess, over at the other curmudgeonarium. Hopefully that’ll get the place back to rights… unless SoE starts cleaning and using air freshener. 😠

It’s cold and soggy here today. Gonna go make some soup so I can at least be warm and soggy.

How disappointing. 😒 So many years on the curmudgeon threads and you’ve failed to identify the sarcasm in my post. It’s really unbecoming of a mudgie.

Besides, there is no humor 😡 allowed in the Family Life forum. This thread was probably moved because of the smell anyway.
