Well, we have been having a remarkably windy Spring this year. In particular it seems like May and April have been the windiest. I can’t remember if March was windy or not. But anyway, I am posting this in the prayer requests forum because we are under a “Lake Wind Advisory” yet again and I have to travel today. Now, granted, I am not traveling via water but if the winds are going to be strong on lakes, they are likely to be strong everywhere else too. I get nervous when I have to travel and it is windy because for some reason, my small car always gets blown around a little and there is always a chance (even if it is a remote chance) that my car will be blown into oncoming traffic. Now I realize that this is not likely to happen but I am still a slight bit nervous about it. I only have to travel a total of about 30 miles today (15 miles each way) but I could really use your prayers for safety. It would really help to calm my nerves to know that people are praying for my safety. Thanks!

According to the National Weather Service, winds could gust as high as 31 mph today. And that is not including winds that may occur during any thunderstorms we get today. We have a 40% chance of thunderstorms today (mostly after 1 PM and I’ll be traveling home during that time period) and a 60% chance of storms tonight (mostly after 1 AM and barring an emergency, I will be home by then).

Holly, prayers that you will safely arrive back home tonight from your destination.

Thank you cradleCatholic. 👍

Also, the National Weather Service has issued the following statement from a Hazardous Weather Outlook:
National Weather Service:
THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS OUTLOOKED PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI…SOUTHERN ILLINOIS…AND SOUTHWEST INDIANA IN A SLIGHT
RISK AREA FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
MODEL DATA SUGGESTS THAT COVERAGE WOULD LIKELY BE ISOLATED…WITH
HAIL AND STRONG WINDS THE PRIMARY HAZARDS. THE STORMS ARE EXPECTED
TO ACCOMPANY THE PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONTAL BOUNDARY.
Sorry it’s in all caps but the National Weather Service has a tendency to put things in all caps. Not sure if it is for emphasis or what.

Also, the chance for storms today has decreased to 20% while the chance for storms tonight remains at 60%.

Thanks and God bless,
Holly

Well, there is a cluster of storms in Illinois and extreme eastern Missouri right now that might spark off some other storms that would head this way. However, the storms on the radar appear to be moving to the Northeast and therefore would miss us. We are under a slight risk of severe weather tonight with hail and high winds being the primary dangers I believe. I am not too worried though because the last time I checked, the storms were forecasted to be isolated with only a slight chance of becoming severe as I noted above. The wind also appears to have decreased rather significantly since this afternoon. But anyway, prayers would still be appreciated. Thanks!
