I was thinking, and I realized our faith journey is similar to that of a pawn on a chess board. The pawn starts in the front, with the stronger pieces (holy people and saints) behind them. If the pawn reaches the other side (living a holy life and dying in a state of grace) then they too can become a saint. Satan’s army (the other team) tries to temp the pawns and “capture” them.
This is probably a really inaccurate and stupid analogy I made up. What do you guys think?
