We are not saved by good works but for good works

What does that phrase mean? Any (name removed by moderator)uts will be appreciated.
 
I see it as saying that we are not saved by “works of the law” but rather, through the change which salvic grace brings, we perform works.
If we are not moved to perform such works for the Glory of God, then we do not have salvic grace within us.

Yes , the Holy Spirits saving grace within us moves us forward in fulfilling the commandments required by the Father for us to persevere in his goodness until it is time for us to leave this world to be with Him forever.Peace Carlan

Yes - Maybe no one is good enough to save himself, but no one is so bad that God cannot save him.
