We are so much like animals

I don’t know if this is wrong. But like some know I had an awaking if you will a few months ago. Looking at the human race where we are and I can’t help see so many animalistic parts of us with out divinity. God made us what we are there is no doubt in my mind. Without or divine soul I don’t believe civilization would have been possible. The evolutionist would differ but let me know when apes talk philosopy etc… God bless us all!

I don’t think that dolphins will be playing chess, anytime soon.

I did want to observe the following:

Man is a ‘rational animal.’
Those who acknowledge the Creator would say:
Man is a rational animal, endowed with a soul.
I only start having trouble with various “theologies,” when they
contain a subtlely expressed view that, somehow,
that which human beings share with the rest of the animal
kingdom, is somehow “unacceptable.”

God created the angels as pure spirit. The angels will never
be able to experience God’s physical creation. They are
spirits with intellect. They have not the human senses -
through which man experiences the world.

Man laughs and weeps and knows sometimes pain and
sometimes, blessedly, joy. We eat, sleep, and have
the bodily functions of all of His animal creatures.

But to man, alone, in His physical creation, He gave
an intellect and an immortal soul. We shall be
raised on the last day - not to exist as disembodied “souls.”
We shall have a glorified body, as His gift - a body which
will never experience pain, or aging, or death again.

“What is man, that Thou art mindful of him?
Or the son of man, that Thou art concerned about him?
Yet You have made him little less than the angels,
Thou hast crowned him with glory and honor…” Psalm 8

This glory and honor are His to give.
Pure gift. Of great comfort, is to know that He is
‘concerned’ about us. He loves us human creatures
that He has made. We delight Him, in our humanity.
Rational animals, endowed with an immortal soul.

God has obviously blessed some of us more with the ability to express themselves with the written word. Awesome post and what I was trying to say.

Human beings are in the Animalia kingdom, so yes, we are animals. The Church Fathers even knew we were animals long before science classified everything into kingdoms, families, etc.

Without a soul, we would not even be humans. We would just be animals. A human is not an animal with a soul, nor a soul with a body, but is an animal and a spirit. This is why mankind is the consummation of the work of creation.

A great way to stump evolutionists and animal rights activitists is to tell them that humans, and not animals, have cognition. Animals cannot defend their so-called “rights”, they cannot take words and re-define them, and they cannot even come up with solutions to environmental issues.
