We are the Catholic Church!

- Our family has spanned the centuries and the globe.

With God’s grace, we started hospitals to care for the sick.

We established orphanages and helped the poor.

**We are the largest charitable organization on the planet, bringing comfort to those in need. **

**We educate more children than any other institution. **

We developed a scientific method and founded the college system.

We defend the dignity of human life and uphold marriage.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we compiled the Bible .

We are transformed by Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, which has guided us for two thousand years.

We are the Catholic Church.

**With, over one billion in our family, sharing in the Sacred Sacraments and the Fullness of the Christian faith. **

Jesus started our Church, when He said to Peter, the first Pope, “You are rock and upon this rock I will build My Church”…

Catholics did not found “the” college system.
But lots of nice things stated. Is this Catholic Pride week? 😃
 
I thought that all of the first Universities in Europe were Catholic.

Hey, we founded all the schools and the system grew out of the Church. It may have since developed more out side of the Church (sadly, I would suggest this has been bad for us) but where was the seed planted for the University system? Right in my Church!

And I can see the value right now, it getting people spirits up what with a flurry of some new bad news out of Europe (being excellently handled by the Pope), a revival of old news from the USA, along with terrible and certainly as yet, completely unsubstantiated attacks against the Holy Father. Some Catholics need a reminder of who and what we are.

As for me, I already had complete faith not only in Christ Jesus, but in everything he left behind for us in this world, particularly the one and only Church he founded.
 
I will simply state that list is full of lies how many atrocities against life, truth and innocent people did your faith support and commit over the two thousand years of its history?

How much wealth and power did you covet to line your church with honors in this world?

Case in point the raping of the New World where exactly did Jesus say: Support a ruler whenever they decide to invade anothers land, take their riches, kill the unbelievers and destroy their culture and be sure to get our 'Cut"? I don’t find that anywhere. :confused: I see love your neighbor, do good to others, turn the other cheek, avoid riches, give to the poor, do good to them that hate you and other odd passages.

Protestants were not much better though after they rose so I will not mention them here but shouldn’t that list be matched with one that is of all the negatives.

So there is plenty of blame to go around from where I am sitting.

Care to tell us who founded the university system,if it was not the RCC during the late Dark Ages?

Hi Libertarian_FL,

In your opinion, do the terms, “love your neighbor” and “do good to others” apply to Catholics? It sure doesn’t look like they do, based on your post here.

Go back and read the first post here, which is a positive post, that is merely an expression of Catholic pride and does not contain a single negative word about any other person or religion and then read your response, which is negative and appears to have been written to enflame Catholics and others here.

Please explain to us, how your angry tone, exemplifies love and Christian charity.

You seem to have an anti-Catholic, or anti-religion attitude towards those who don’t agree with you. I find it interesting though, that you chose to use language here, taken from the bible, a Catholic book, to argue against Catholicism.

How does that make any sense?

Finally, have to ever read the book by Thomas à Kempis, titled, “Imitation of Christ”?

It will be a competitive German-style pontificated health program to compete with private insurance thus creating rigorous competition and lowering costs for consumers.
