We cannot understand understanding

Petra, I ask these questions to make STT think, hoping that he will come to realize that man is a combination of matter and spirit, and that it is the spirit that is the origin of thought, and that we have a spiritual soul, with it’s powers of intelligence and will. It is clear that he is not aware of this truth. And it is understandable because he has not been exposed to these truths. Every human act of knowing has both elements, the physical and the spiritual, union of body and soul.

You ask questions and I answered you.
  1. What is the purpose of brain process?
  2. Why thought should come from somewhere? If soul has the power of intellect then it should be able to directly process thought and you should be aware of process of thought?
  3. Why stimulating brain with a magnetic field cause hallucination? You can read about it here.

That hypothesis violates the principles of economy and adequacy. Mental states presuppose the existence of a mind.

👍 It is undoubtedly a miracle, as Pascal pointed out, that we know the immense universe exists and the universe knows nothing about anything!

If that is true then how come you are not aware of mental states? Why do they pop up? Why you don’t have control on generating thought if mind generates thought (as you have control on your action)?

THIS is a great question… sometimes thoughts just come into mind without ME generating them… That is so true! Hey, who is sending me these thoughts??? AND it’s been going on since the beginning of TIME for man… hmmmm…

Yes, thoughts are formed in brain and could be experienced when they are formed properly.
