God creates a new-heaven and new-Earth. Earth had animals, therefore the new-Earth will have animals. St. Francis would not have cared so much if animals were not important.
I have a couple of pets who I will be so happy to see again hopefully one day.

There is a special kind of grief in losing a beloved pet. I don’t have to tell you how wonderful that quiet unconditional understanding they have for us and the joy when they see us when we’ve been gone for a few minutes or a day.

You and your family are in my prayers.

Thank you so much. I’m sure you will see them again in the New Earth as well.

Oh, I am so sorry. That is one of the toughest things to do - I too have done it many times. Really leaves a void too. I do get more animals but I never forget the ones I lost, ever. They are still with me; I remember them all to this day; still love them. (I do do this with loved ones I have lost too - people I mean) I pray for you and your wife in your grief. Any death, loss is so hard.

Thank you all for the prayers and kindness.

I believe 100% my wife and I will see him again. He will be on the New Earth that God creates.
I’m sorry for my comment about animals having no souls,
I’m NOT a lover of animals and the comment was insensit-
ive, but if God loved animals and gave them immortal souls,
did Christ die on the cross AS A HUMAN BEING for the
animals we so dearly love AS WELL??

Your comment is insensitive and counter to what this thread is. Glam8833 if you are not here to offer a prayer for our loss and to be sensitive, then please kindly…get lost.

And as it says in 1 Corinthians,“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” – the things God has prepared for those who love him–". Meaning I will see that little dog again.

You will, don’t worry. God bless.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (punisherthunder), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon punisherthunder in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen

Thank you so much for all the prayers. We are still devastated…

My wife had to be sedated this morning because her grief was so intense. We are really struggling with all this and need all the positive prayers that we can get.

Your schnauzer was blessed to be a part of your family. Take comfort in knowing you gave him a loving and caring home.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Punisherthunder, 🙂

I am so sorry for your loss and for your grief. I wish I could tell you how you will be feeling in the near future, but I cannot. I have lost a few pets and it was different for each one. For some, my grief ended when I hugged a brand new pet. For one other, who died almost 2 years ago, I have cried everyday. I have a new pet and I am hugging her–it always helps.

You can pm me if you want and I can share my own story with you–and show you numerous others–on why I believe pets go to heaven, but I don’t feel that now is an appropriate time for discussions…only prayers of heart-felt solidarity.

You continue to be in my prayers at this painful time … I have lost beloved dogs … I understand your pain.

Divine Mercy Chaplet

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Peebo & Autumn,

Thank you so much for your prayers and words of great, great kindness. They really mean a lot to us, and feel blessed having such kind people as you two, taking out their time to offer us hope of the midst of such bitterness and mourning. I believe that from 1 Corinthians that …eyes haven’t seen, ears haven’t heard… I firmly believe that.

Thank you and I may PM you in the future for further support. Thank you for your prayers today and God Bless.

Please encourage her to feel the grief, and not take too seriously people who minimize the loss that she may come across. Plenty of people just don’t get it. Not even in the loss of a parent.

An older lady I know lost her beloved cat. This was a cat she poured bottled spring water for and cooked special meals for because the vet gave her special diet recommendations.

There were plenty of people who initially offered her sympathy. I brought a covered dish and a card. I observed that over the following weeks she was forgetful and distracted where she is normally really sharp and focused. Every so often I ask her how she’s doing. Once after a fairly odd week she was having, by being ‘forgetful’, she told me she didn’t know what was wrong with her. “It’s grief”. She just looked at me and melted.

You and your wife will experience grief, and it may show up in unexpected ways. It might take longer than you’d like, but blessedly you have each other for encouragement. It’s an awful thing to stuff or ignore the grief. It will come back in an unhealthy way. When the time comes, a special photo album and or a special Christmas ornament in remembrance of that wonderful little Schnauzer might help.

Thank you. We have been thinking about a small memorial, but right now we are still totally in shock.

We are still praying as much as we can. It feels almost as if we have lost a child.

Prayer on the Death of a Pet
*
In God we live and move and have our being.–Acts 17:28*

Thank you, God,
for lending him to me.
Because of him I learned
a little more about loving,
a little more about taking care,
a little more about letting things be.
Thank you, God.
He is one of the nicest ways
that I have ever met you.
I really miss him.
But I’m looking
for some new sign of you.
Please help me find it.

Amen.

I lost a beloved Siamese cat about 16 years ago…he was 16 years old…it broke my heart…I had him cremated and they gave me his ashes in an urn and a framed memorial notice…I still have them on my dresser…and I still miss him…I found it hard to get another pet as it hurts so much when they pass away…now we…my wife and I…have a Basset Hound 18 months old…he’s the apple of our eye…especially me…his dad…both of us are in our twilight years so I don’t know how we will handle it if anything ever happens to him…I just know that we will see our beloved pets in heaven because I know God loves us that much…I have no doubts at all…God Bless
