Here are the guidelines to the indulgence published by my parish regarding our basilica’s Holy Door:
Conditions for Gaining the Plenary Indulgence
for the Jubilee Year of Mercy
(until November 27, 2016)

Perform one of the following acts:

Personally do a corporal work of mercy (feed the hungry, give
drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit the imprisoned,
shelter the homeless, visit the sick, bury the dead.)

Personally do a spiritual work of mercy (Correct those who
need it, teach the ignorant, give advice to those who need it,
comfort those who suffer, be patient with others, forgive
others who hurt you, pray for others.)
·
Visit the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul for a time of prayer
(either the upper church or lower chapel, entering through
any door, for Mass, or the Rosary or the Liturgy of the Hours,
or for any time of prayer, at least an Our Father and Hail
Mary.
2. Receive Holy Communion on that day at the Basilica or any
church, or on any occasion 7 days before performing the above
act in #1, or 7 days after performing it.
3. Go to confession at some point in any church either 7 days
before performing the above act in #1, or 7 days afterward.
4. Pray the Creed (either Nicene or Apostles’ Creed) and Our
Father for the intentions of Pope Francis either on the day of, or
7 days before, or 7 days after performing the above act in #1.
