We listen to the Protestant brothers because they preached.

The word of God preached by the Founding Fathers was accompanied by the practice of the Moral Values found in the law of Moses.

The founders of the New Land, where prophecy could occurred any day now (Rapture;Millennium), lived the gospel they preached. They had a limited understanding of the message of Christ for they were in posssession of slaves, never the less, they lived what they thought was right and they did it in the name of Christ.

The Catholic Church respects, according to Vatican II, the spirituality of the Protestant doctrines because it is done in the name of Christ, and its obained by a baptism in the spirit of God.

Just as the history of the Protestant Church is that of our Catholic Church. The only thing in between, however, is that the Catholic Church has been around for over two thousand years; therefor, it is always a step ahead, and leading the entire global humanity to the encounter of CHRIST.

I have a few problems with this.
  1. “The Catholic Church respects, according to Vatican II, the spirituality of the Protestant doctrines because it is done in the name of Christ, and its obained by a baptism in the spirit of God.”
The early heretics did much in the name of Christ, but I wouldn’t respect their false doctrines because of that. As a more modern-day example, Muslims commit mass murder and suicide in the name of God. Should that be respected?
  1. “Just as the history of the Protestant Church is that of our Catholic Church.”
This is not true. Our history is maintained by our unbroken line to that history. Break away from the church and follow the doctrines of the man/men who made their own church and that moment in time is when your history starts. This is why the Sola Scipturists are so fragmented. They have the bible, but not the historic support the Catholic church has.

But of course we don’t think we broke away from the Church, and we certainly do not base our faith on the doctrines of the Reformers. At most, Protestants regard the Reformers as great prophets who called the Church back to the pure faith of the New Testament. I and many other Protestants don’t put them that high–we think that they were great teachers who had some excellent insights but also got many things wrong.

Our history did not begin with the Reformers. That’s a straw man you’re attacking. It is of course easy to demolish it, and it’s easy to find Protestants who hold it (just as I can find Catholics who hold all sorts of silly ideas, which I could then demolish with relish and claim to have demolished Catholicism–anti-Catholics do this all the time but it’s a remarkably pointless exercise). If you want to refute Protestantism you need to refute the strongest possible arguments for Protestantism. Otherwise you’re wasting your time.

And I am afraid that is the point. They got many things wrong. And the many things that they got wrong are the things that divide us until this day.
