we must stop acting differently depending on who we are with. If we tell a joke to a friend; we should feel comfortable with sharing that same joke with a priest. if not, who are we trying to please? Men or God?
I hear you! It does get frustrating when someone answers a question differently depending on who they are talking to or what the wording and tone of the question were. I’ve had quite a bit of experience with this and I think I have have become pretty good at being able to generate a desired response from someone based on the wording I use. People will often say contradictory things based on how a question is said.we must stop acting differently depending on who we are with. And yes - I fully understand your last point! It bugs me often. But who am I to talk? I’m scrupulous and confused about things anyway.

now if only i could get the others to understand what we are talking about: its kind of like how you pretty yourself up when going for a job interview; and then just lazily walk into church with whatever you decided to throw on.

We can only speak for ourselves.we must stop acting differently depending on who we are with. If we tell a joke to a friend; we should feel comfortable with sharing that same joke with a priest. if not, who are we trying to please? Men or God?
