Wow! I love that list of healthy foods. I eat all of those… sprinkled with sugar of course. 😉

Please forgive me, but I don’t understand this thread…it could be that I’m 30 weeks and I’m trying to organize my cupboards, do the laundry, organize the nursery and find something for lunch all at once, but I don’t understand what you are asking…

could you please use full sentences, my brain is not what it once was…

I’m almost afraid to ask… but how does one go about becoming “body free?”

The Body Free idea is that the enemy can’t do anything to our spirit so the best he can do is tie up our bodies.

Since 1800 when we became a powerful missionary society he has been corrupting us with the substance abuse society. We are now moored in internal problems destroying our witness to the world. The worst being our continued societal approval of abortion. The underlying others being the impending failure of our medical and school systems.

The two failures of our school and medical system can be directly tied to overweight adults with their health complications and obeise, hyperactive antisocial school children. The only thing we as individuals can do about this is boycot the main contributor sugar.

Studies that are unbiased all prove scientifically it is a major cause.

Take your kids off sugar for a week and give them all they want on saturday, they will be so sick, I will have proved to everyone that we are sugar addicts.

So to be Body Free from the culture of dealth we live in we need to get off sugar. If we don’t the medical costs will colapse our whole society and the schools may implode sooner.

The Surgeon General is warning everyone that this is much much worse than Katrina. We all need to take drastic action to avert disaster.

I’m sorry but this reminds me too much of Chesterton’s 2nd chapter in Orthodoxy where a poor soul is trapped in a tiny circle of a single idea.

You must be referring to St. Escriva’s little-known side project… “Opus Diet.” 😉

Seriously, though, I only know one family that’s involved with Opus Dei, and I wouldn’t say they’re into “health food” at all. Their children eat typical American quantities of white flour, sugar, aspartame, red dye #5, etc. This isn’t how I choose to feed my own family, but I guess one could argue that it’s compatible with the Opus Dei charism… i.e., blending into the surrounding culture as much as possible. (In a sense, it’s reminiscent of their endorsement of Harry Potter.)

BTW, jbuttrey, before you go demanding a new sub-forum… have you got any tasty recipes to contribute to my “whole grain Easter treats” thread? 🙂

We would do better without the quantitiy of sugar. Do you know that they put it in salt? Never made sense to me until I accidently put a little salt into what I was baking and it was hardly noticible until I added more sweatner than it turned to total salt taste. Anything can be over done including a no sugar diet. I

A no sugar diet can’t be overdone. You have been indoctrinated by the moderation in all things crowd. Never meant to apply to food offered to idols. Sugar profits are offered to the God of slavery.

St. Patrick’s heroic fight against slavery is what we are continuing by boycotting sugar. It is a drug which is drugging enslaving and raping (I was sexually abused by a sugar and sex addict as a child) our neighbors and countries.

All street drugs are like sugar only not as bad. Sugar is a body altering substance with no nutritional or medical value with huge short term and long term impacts on our schools and hospitals.

If Johnny Cash would have known about sugar he may have saved his first family to use the current idiom.

Is it just me or does it seem we need another planet, not merely another sub-forum, to contain this :whacky: ideology?

Please provide a link to this claim by the Surgeon Gen.

John

We have been over this. You have done a search of the internet and have happened on those sites that are against sugar. Try doing a search of sugar myth. You will find that much research show that sugar in moderation is NECESSARY you have bought into pseudo-science. I am curious do you use table salt? It contains sugar. If you don’t believe me look at it contents. Sugar is labeled many different ways.
Other Names for Sugar
Barley Malt Glucose Maltose
Brown Sugar Grape Sugar Mannitol
Cane Sugar Grape Sweetener Maple Syrup
Corn Sweetener High Fructose corn syrup Sorghum
Corn Syrup Honey Sorbitol
Dextrose Invert Sugar Sucrose
Fructose Lactose Sugar
Sugar myths-busted
First, a quick and painless science lesson: Sugars, aka carbohydrates, are made of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Individually, these strings of molecules are called monosaccharides, which include sugars such as fructose (found in fruit). Link two sets of molecules together and you have disaccharides, such as sucrose (table sugar) and lactose (the sugar found in milk). Combine a whole bunch of units, producing an even more complex molecule, and you’ve got starches and fiber. And no matter what form you eat–from Gummi Bears to Wheaties–carbs contain 4 calories per gram, break down to simple sugars during digestion (except for fiber, which is indigestible) and are either used for immediate energy or stored for later. In other words, you need sugars in your diet to keep your body running. Most should come in the form of nutrient-rich starches like whole grains and cereals. You should also eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and lowfat dairy products–which contain sugars, but also valuable vitamins, minerals and disease-fighting chemicals.
The Final Say
Sugars, starches and fiber are in the nutrient category called carbohydrates and are your body’s main source of fuel. Some sugars occur in food naturally, while others are added.
Regardless of the source, your body can’t tell the difference.
If your energy needs are low, go easy on the amount of sugars you consume, as well as the amount of fat. Try consuming mostly nutrient-dense foods which provide other nutrients besides sugar or fat.
Sugars, in moderation, are part of a healthful diet. Naturally-occurring or added sugars can make nutritious foods more appealing by adding taste, aroma, texture and color.

The link to the surgeon general was in a previous thread quoting his obeisity talk in a California newspaper.

Who is the American Diabetic Association etc? In health care who profits from cured people - nobody but me, I love them.

Who are the keep them sick people? Big Sugar, Associations who need more diabetics and the drug industry.

Listen to them if you want to but I ask you to open your mind to no sugar families as the cure. Don’t accept a drugged painful life
with a torturous death because they told you.

Don’t mince words - Sugar we are refering to is the refined one it is in all those ugly things listed that are fake refined additives to foods. Take them out of your diet, you will get healed.

We have the Eucharist, Confession, Healing Oil and Water and the Truth, so Catholics can do this; be the Leaders it will take to break this slavery to Satan modern myth.

I’m sorry, is this supposed to be a war against sugar or child abusers? Its unfortunate what happened to you, I’ve been there, but I can’t turn around and claim that my abuse occured because of sugar…
