How 'bout this:GOD BLESS THE CRUSADERS!For the original intent of ridding the Holy Land from the foreign invaders.By the by,sport,I don’t think you’ll find many Jews, zionist or non zionist who have ANYTHING good to say about the Crusades or Crusaders since they too were sometimes attacked by some evil doers amongst the Crusaders.I am not a Jew,nor am I a Zionist but a Catholic who follows Christ, not a murdering xenophobic child molester like Mohammed.
The Crusaders were themselves foreign invaders. The ones who really owned the land were the Byzantines, and not only did the Crusaders not give their land back, they attacked Constantinople and sacked the city.

My sympathies really lie with Alexius Commenus, who just wanted some mercenaries to flesh out his armies, and wound up supplying a massive force of westerners who tried to suppress the Eastern Orthodox, took his land, and wound up killing his grandson. He got a raw deal.

Intent is EVERYTHING.The Holy Land spiritually belonged to both Jew and Christian as it was and is the crucible of our Faith. We went in response to an avaricious invasion-remember Moorish Spain? There were good and bad amongst the Crusaders. And now for the history lesson:rolleyes:

That wouldn’t be a “moderate” Muslim, but a "non-Muslim."

**So, Sister Amy is saying that those Mahometans who do NOT believe in violence and jihad are not real Mahometans.

This merely confirms what I’ve been reading–that Mahometanism is NOT a religion of peace at all, but a religio-political movement of domination and conquest.

You read her words here first, folks!**

Isa akbar!

Isa akbar!

ISA AKBAR!

I bear witness there is NO GOD but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God Incarnate risen from the dead.

The more I read posts like the one above convinces me the Zionists control this site,**

**Just out of curiosity, why would a Zionist (and Zionism is a movement within Jewry) say that Jesus is great, and is God Incarnate?

Can you explain?**

Probably not in any way that would make sense to a rational human being.
Refuse to tolerate the intolerant-Islam or at least the modern application of it.

Intent is everything. For the Normans, the intent was to take land from the Byzantines, with whom they’d been fighting for years. For Hugh of Vermandois, it was part of a compromise with the pope to lift the excommunication of his brother, the King of France. For Tancred and Baldwin, it was to get an estate of their own (they were third sons, and had no inheritance). For the Venetians, it was to knock Byzantium down a peg.

There was no “we” to go in against anybody. The Crusaders didn’t like each other, they didn’t like the Byzantines (who were the original owners of the land), they didn’t like the Jews (who they slaughtered in Germany and Jerusalem), and they certainly didn’t like the Copts and the Orthodox (the Copts and the Nestorians actually fought alongside the Arabs during the initial wars between Arabia and Byzantium; this happened mainly because the Arabs were more tolerant than the Byzantines [the Turks, on the other hand, were not any better]).

Furthermore, there wasn’t even a “them”. The Fatimids in Egypt hated the Abbasids in the Levant, and both of them hated the Turks. The Turks themselves were engaged in a civil war between the Great Seljuqs and the Seljuqs of Rum, and the Seljuqs of Rum were in a civil war also.

It was very similar in Muslim Spain. Emirs fought alongside the Christians, and Christian lords fought alongside the Muslims. In fact, the Muslims first reached Spain because of a civil war amongst the Visigoths. The lord on the side that was losing asked for help from the Arabs, and got more than he bargained for.

Why your annoyance at my so-called history lesson? If you don’t want to understand the complexities of the situation, you shouldn’t comment on it.

Thanks professor(tugs forelock)I’ll run along now.
Okay, whatever. But if you don’t want to bother understanding the reality of the situation, I don’t understand why you should expect to be taken seriously.

Funny…you’d think that as I’ve openly stated on several occasions that I do not support Israel those Zionists who control this place would have done something horrible to me. What is the hold up, guys? It’s not the Sabbath today, is it?

You just proved Bpbasilphx correct and by your own words are confirming that there is no moderation in the"religion of PEACE"
So? All of Islam is moderate. Weren’t you Muslim yourself? Maybe I have confused you with someone else with a similar userid, but the hadith which comes to my mind when I think of you is also relevant in this thread:

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “The religion (of Islam) is easy, and whoever makes the religion a rigour, it will overpower him.** So, follow a middle course (in worship); **if you can’t do this, do something near to it and give glad tidings and seek help (of Allah) at morn and at dusk and some part of night”.
[Al-Bukhari].

And of course the ayah about moderation, about being in the middle, it comes right in the middle of Surah Baqarah, verse 143 (out of 286) Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the messenger may be a witness against you.

So on the one hand Islam is all about moderation.

But if you are actually rejecting a part of Islam (like jihad) then how can you possibly be moderate? Like Yvonne Ridley says, you can’t be moderately pregnant, or moderately Muslim. Either you are or you aren’t. And if you’re rejecting Islam, then clearly you aren’t.

Violence and jihad do not mean the same thing. You can have jihad without violence. And there is lots of violence without jihad.

One Companion was fighting in battle and had overpowered his opponent and was about to kill him (it was war), when the man spat in this Companion’s face. That action enraged the Companion so much that he refused to kill the man, because it would be out of anger instead of for the sake of Allah (i.e., jihad.)

Moreover, Islam is a religion of submission to God, in order to obtain completeness, wholeness, which is salaam, often translated as peace. It never meant, and never will mean pacifism, much as you might wish it to.

American non-Jewish Zionists don’t call themselves Zionists nor are they popularly called Zionists.

They have a different name…

Neo-conservatives.

Islam is not about moderation, Islam is about fanaticism.

Iranian ex-Muslim Amil Imani says :
There is no such thing as moderate Islam. There is no such thing as secular Islam or a secular Muslim. How can you possibly secularize a shark or a snake? You can’t. It’s the nature of the beast. There are numerous sects within Islam. One and all are extremes and not in the least amenable to change. Keep in mind that Islam claims that it is the perfect eternal faith for mankind. Splits have occurred and will continue to occur in Islam. Yet, reformation has not happened in nearly 1400 years and is not going to happen. Islam is carved in granite, just the way it is. No change. Allah’s book is sealed.

There are indeed some Muslims who are moderate in the way they practice their religion. These people, for the most part, are culturally Muslims. They don’t practice Islam the way it is mandated. They pick and choose. Therefore, “moderate Islam,” is no Islam at all. It is not possible. The only way to deal with the menace of real Islam, the Islamofascist varieties, is to fully dismantle it and relegate it to the confines of museums.

:ehh: I quoted the Qur’an and a Hadith. Do they not talk about Islam?

Or are the teachings of Islam derived from ex-Muslim Iranians? :hmmm:

It’s precisely because of the teachings of Islam, that he is no longer a Muslim!

Noorun 'ala noor. :newidea:

My Qur’an search engine is down today so I can’t post the whole verse for you, sorry. But if you have a Qur’an nearby you can look up in Chapter 24, verses 35-40. It’s in there.

No, I don’t have a Quran, but found the reference you mentioned including the diatribe about the unbelievers being the darkness! Not surprising!

I was talking about verse 35 actually. “Noorun 'ala noor.” Embracing Islam was, for me, “light upon light.”
