On Sunday, my sister and I made plans to go to the local Cathedral for Mass. It’s not our usual parish (we both go to different parishes but were spending time in the “big city”. We checked the archdiocesan website and found out we missed that Mass. So we searched the online Mass times and found a perfect Mass at 3pm. We took transit right away, and got to the 3pm Mass 20 minutes early to find out that the Archdiocesan website was wrong, and there wasn’t a 3pm Mass… anywhere close to us. Evening Masses were impossible for us because of scheduling. We stayed in the church, prayed for around a half an hour with several other people in the church.
My question is… Our intent was NOT to miss Mass… This isn’t a mortal sin, is it?
Thanks
