And who is this him that you love? Does he love you? And how do you know?
BigFellaMick is correct in his assumption that I am not sure who God is, but I know God loves me because I can feel it and know he’s there.

Yes I do believe that is a seeker’s primary goal but I’m still looking for what I believe to be true. I don’t know what it is yet. I think it might be a lifelong struggle, but I am on my way to finding out, and as I said I have beliefs in Buddhism as well… so I think I may get more tries until I get it right finally. 👍

Maybe my beliefs lie more in Buddhism than anything else but like I said I am on my way to finding out what is true and where I am right now is not in a place to put my beliefs in any religion at this time.
That’s fine, and if you seek him, you will find him. Of that I am certain. 🙂

However, just keep one thing in mind in your search: make sure you’re not creating a god in your own image, rather than conforming your beliefs to God’s.
I know in your opinion I will probably die confused and not get another chance and maybe that is true, I don’t know. I am confused. 🙂
Well, now you really ARE confused, because I believe you’re confusing me with my good friend guanophore who posted that comment, not me. 😃

I see, yes, thank you for believing that I will find him. Because I am searching. 🙂

And I think your point about creating a god in my own image is a very valid one.

That’s fine, too. Except didn’t the Emperor** feel** really good about what his servants were telling him?

One ought to be very, very careful about conforming one’s beliefs to something based on one’s feelings.

Yes, but I know you can feel his love too. 😉 The only difference is you know who yours is coming from and I am still searching.

Yes, this is true.

And if you investigate the Catholic Church, I guarantee you you’ll FEEL the greatest intimacy with God that’s possible. :gopray::signofcross:

Thank you for that. There is so much out there for one to believe that it is confusing for me. I am still young, in my mid 20s, so I am still searching. I will keep investigating the Catholic Church. 👍

As someone who has 20 years worth of these many truths and lies in her home to clean up, trying to make room for God, this is what I have to say.

Every religion has its universal truths, but only Catholicism has the whole truth.

God loves all but he is a jealous God. There is only one God to worship and that is him. God will not hate you for being confused but it really wont help on judgement day. I pray you figure it out before then. I pray you figure it out before you have $500 worth of lies staring you in the face, all because you wanted to seek the face of God, but God has been waiting all along. Your soul is in danger.

And the rosary is more than prayer beads or charms. You should really read St. Louis de Monforte. The rosary is based off of a real life vision of the Virgin Mary, to St. Dominic.

That said, I think the Virgin would very much want you to wear the rosary. I hope it guides you.

Thank you. Yes I admit that I am confused when I pray, who is it going out to? Does it get answered even though I can’t put a “face” so to speak on who I’m talking to? I don’t know. That is probably why it is hard for me to pray. And so comes the conflicts with my beliefs in Buddhism as for some reason I just think God is out there. But I like the Buddhist ideology of reincarnation and the state of nirvana, so my beliefs contradict each other and I am fully aware of it. It is a weird state of mind to be in, that is for sure!

As it stands now, I am attracted to what the rosary represents and I know and appreciate the value of it. I will look into reading St. Louis De Monfort as suggested so I can learn more.

I trust the Lord will work on you wearing this precious gift of his beloved mother and with this rosary assist your conversion to the one true Faith.🙂

some call it feelings, some nudges, some guidence, and even more the Holy Spirit working. Signs and things of this nature come to us all the time. How we see them is based on how open our eyes and heart are.

The suggestion by a few to investigate the Catholic Church seems to be a pretty wise suggestion.

Here’s a point to think on;
The Holy Rosary is associated with the Catholic Church. Take a moment, listen… every wonder why you are drawn so close to your Rosary?
Maybe it’s time you consider it.

God Bless,

Ethan,

God’s going to take care of you and lead to where you need to be, whether it’s next week or 20 years from now. There is a plan for you. Remember Jeremiah in the Hebrew Scriptures:

Jeremiah 29:11 - ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’

He has never let me down!

Best to you on your journey!!!

I have a very nice rosary that I wear around my neck but I am not catholic. However before you think it is just a fashion accessory, I believe in God and have my own personal relationship with him. I feel protected with the rosary, when I need strength I wrap the beads around my hand and it makes me feel closer to God, I will kiss the crucifix when I want to thank God, my crucifix has a small figurine of Jesus on it and that helps to always remind me to think of others and be a good person, and just having it around my neck makes me feel a sense of peace and happiness and connected to God.

I am not interested in opinions about wearing a rosary around one’s neck, I read through this thread forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=80700 and the general consensus is that wearing a rosary around your neck is perfectly fine if that is how you like to hold your rosary.

I love my rosary but I am not catholic, in fact I don’t really consider myself any religion, I have my own personal relationship with God. So what do you think about that? Is it wrong to wear a rosary if you aren’t catholic but you have a love for God?
I was given my very first Rosary at age 4 and also wore it around my neck until the Nuns explained to me that it was not a necklace. LOL. Once they showed me how to use the Rosary and I made my First Holy Communion at age 6 and we received white scapulas and the Nuns showed us how to wear the Scapulas around our necks I was happy. I also received a Miraculous medal from my parents (which I still wear today).

I keep a Rosary in my left pocket to ward off the desire to commit mortal sin. At night it is under my pillow. It works. When the desire overcomes me I reach in my pocket and hold the Rosary tightly. Hail Mary prayers also work. You should learn the prayer. It is very powerful.

Keep that Rosary around your neck. Our Lady loves that you show reverence to the Rosary regardless of your age or religion. The strong pull of some of the symbols of the Catholic Religion is sometimes incredible. God works in mysterious ways.
God Bless you.

Hi sorry I came to this thread a little late.

I think you need to research theology and decide for yourself.

I honestly don’t know what I would do without the rosary. It has truly changed my life.

I’ll have you know I explored Buddhism for a while but I found that there were many things in it I couldn’t necessarily believe. Also Buddhist do not believe in God the same way you seem to. Many Buddhists claim to not believe in God. In fact a lot of Buddhism says that a belief in God will hinder you from attaining enlightenment.

Catholics however Believe that the Holy Trinity is God and there is a lot of evidence and miracles that support the catholic faith as the worlds only true religion.

Remember that if one thing is theologically wrong in a religion all of it is.

Welcome Home

I used to think I could have a deep relationship with God without joining any organized religion. However I did my homework and realized catholicism was the only place for me to go.

Besides other than revelation all knowledge of God comes from religion as revealed by him or other things that may be false or man made

catholicism is the only religion where God has revealed himself to man.
We believe God made the Catholic religion for man. Not the other way around.

Try to have an active prayer life.

God will point you in the right direction. He is always good, just, holy and beyond all our understanding except for what he has revealed to us.

God love you.

I beleive that,no matter if your Catholic or not,Mary is please when we turn to her,and say the Rosary, and wearing a Roasry around your neck or hand is ok, because I also do wear one around my hand,I feel more at peace.

Because. He may believe in Jesus and what he said and did…but he may not believe in following the specific Catholic religion and what it says…and/or in following just one of the many religions that say they are the true one. I think this is what he is saying.
this may be so. I respect peoples individual beliefs however all I’m saying is if Jesus didn’t establish the church to save souls we would not have the sacraments to bring us closer to God and we wouldn’t have any revelation on who God is. Just something to consider. The scriptures came out of the church not the other way around.
