Wearing a brown scapular question

I know you are supposed to wear the brown scapular at all times if you are invested in it by a priest, but I have one question. Is it ok to take it off to shower? I have a friend that wears one and she says no. Just wondering what’s the right thing to do.

You can certainly take it off when you shower.

Hi BLP,

The only time that I take mine off is when I shower. The scapular that I am wearing is made out of wool, and I don’t know that it would hold up very well if it got totally wet in the shower. I never tried it. Mine has lasted for many years staying out of the shower.

Yes, you can take it off when you shower. But personally, I do not feel comfortable when I have it off…so sometimes I will either leave it on, or I will purchase a second scapular to wear when I bathe. But that is just personal preference.

Yes by all means do take it off when taking a shower,because the materail will fall apart from the water after time.I take mine off,but put it back on after my showerand kiss it to show my devotion.
