I think yes. As you can see there are women who feel the calling to the veil but don’t wear one. It takes lots of courage to wear one. You have to let go of all the things you’ve heard about it (you stick out and will be a distraction, people will think your holier than thou, etc) and submit yourself to God’s will. We are all human and things take time to change within ourselves and to be comfortable going against the norm of society.I am simply astounded at the thought, and it must be uppermost in many people’s minds due to the number of threads about it, that any woman who feels moved to wear a veil in church would even consider the opinions of third parties if she decides to do so. I would think such an urge would come from a deep conviction about propriety, sacred tradition, and appropriate reverence, and that such a deep confiction would be totally unmoved by such considerations as sideways glances from other people.
Is there some reason why you can’t just put on a veil (or hat, or babushka or veanie) and just go to church? does it really need all this angst?
When i first started getting the urge, i hide it and went looking for infomation on my own. I finally asked a girlfirend who i knew would have an extra one for me to borrow. i had it for a week or two and was discern when to try it out. i wore it to church and didn’t tell anyone until a few weeks later when a friend saw me at church. I didn’t tell or confide in many people simple because i did not want my growth to be hindered by others thoughts.
