Wearing roasary

Huh. I went to Catholic school and they always told us you shouldn’t wear it around your neck, it’s not for jewelry, etc. So I always thought it was blasphemous or something. I suppose if you’re using it though and it’s comforting for you there can’t really be anything wrong with it. Good to know.

I personally believe that one should not wear Rosary around one’s neck. It is simply not a piece of jewelry to be worn in that fashion.I did that once though when as a kid when I went to a student camp long time ago. I did that because I forgot to take with me my holy medal and cross I wore around my neck.
I have my rosary in my car and always pray it going to and from work. But I do wear Rosary with me everywhere where I go. I weare it on my finger - it is a Rosary ring. I noticed that quite a few people in Europe who wore it. I have not met too many people in the US who do that.

i dont think theres anything wrong with wearing a rosary around your neck. but during a youth group prayer meeting a parent once told me that keeping the rosary in your left pocket would do good. she said it was because the devil resides on the left side (kind of like in cartoons where the devil is on one side of your shoulder in your conscience and god is on the other) and that the rosary would cast it away. “the rosary is the weapon” but wearing it as a trend kind of defeats the purpose of what it signifies.

Its been culturally acceptable to wear the rosary around your neck in latin countires for a long time.

The pope saw Bono wear the rosary around his neck. He told him he like it. He didn’t tell him to take it off.

I am sure some sisters or priests don’t like it but there is no canon law on how to wear a rosary or if to wear a rosary.

I would hope most regard it as more than a fasion accessory but you can’t stop heathens from wearing a cross or crucifex look at the rappers and rock starts.

Yeah but in his book St.Louis de Montfort bashes the Spanish for showing off their rosaries on their necks but never praying them in the book *Secret of the Rosary . *Who’s right?

I wear my rosary at my left hand finger as a nice ring.I think it is quite common to wear it this way,at least ,here in Slovakia or in another European countries.But there are many other good ways like bracelets…
