Ahh…here we go again about the Veil.
It doesn’t seem to matter how much a person/people point out the value/blessing a woman gets for wearing the Veil/headcovering. There is sure to be a “good Catholic” out there who is quick to point out it’s not in Cannon Law.
I asked on the last thread about Veiling and None of the “good Cahtolics” that have pointed out the Cannon Law (more than I care to remember) has Ever shown me yet, Why the Pope requires ALL women who go to visit him to be Veiled. Please show me where this is in Cannon Law! And yet several Women (even those who are not Catholics) who have gone to visit the Pope all wear a Veil when seeing him.
My question to the “good Catholics” who are so Stuck…on…if it’s Not in the Cannon Law, then we Don’t have to do it.…is this… “Are you sure everything you do as a Catholic is in Cannon Law”. Hint: some things we do as Catholics are Not in the Cannon Law, yet they are traditions.
So to stomp your feet, so to speak, and say “Well it’s not in the Cannon Law, I don’t have to do it.” Is plain and simple…laughable. There are many things we do as Catholics that are Not in the Cannon Laws!
So …take a deep breath…and if nothing else…really look into the subject on what it’s all about.
Veiling is Not about Cannon Law. Period! Do your “Homework” (it goes back beyond Cannon Laws) on Veiling and you’ll find out Much that you never knew before…
Then after you do the History of the Veiling…if you still don’t want to Veil…that’s up to you…but meanwhile stop stomping your feet and waving the “It’s not in Cannon Law” flag. As I said, there are a lot of things we do as Catholics that are Not in the Cannon Law. Why aren’t you stomping your feet at them?
