Wedding at a Parish Mass?

Where did you find that? I’m finding parishes that will not schedule nuptial Masses on Sundays, but nowhere that it says parishes are forbidden from allowing couples to exchange wedding vows at weekend Masses.

I could see why there could be boundaries like that, since the bishop may know he is short of priests and may legitimately want to limit the number of times a priest celebrates Mass in a day. I just don’t see where it is explicitly forbidden.

Maybe “nuptial Mass” means a separate wedding Mass is prohibited. The OP was asking about exchanging vows within a regular Mass. That’d be different I think? No extra Mass for the priest to celebrate-just a little “extra” going on at Mass, like a Baptism…

At my parish a few years ago, an older couple was married during the Saturday evening Mass. In fact, the priest suggested the idea to them and they liked it during their marriage prep. Even the congregation liked having the wedding during Mass.

I’ve always dreamed of being married at a regular parish mass: Sat/Sun/weekday - whatever. My parish ministry brings me in contact with so many people of the parish that it wouldn’t be possible to invite everyone. Also, the vocation of marriage is lived out within the whole community; why not start it there, too?
The reception would be held afterwards in the church hall for all.
