Anyone have anything engraved on their wedding bands? I know it is traditional to inscribe the date of your wedding, but anyone have any other ideas??

Thanks!

Just an FYI, we went to four different jewelers looking at wedding bands, and none of them did inscriptions.

Ours don’t have anything on them, because we couldn’t find a place that would do it. Once Nathan became set on a band, we just bought both of them there.

He has a titanium band and I have a 2mm platinum plain band.

Good luck! I wish we could have done inscriptions!

Yes, ours say “for always” in german and our wedding date.

DH has my initials and wedding date and I have his initials and wedding date. ( though DH has had his made bigger twice so not sure it is still there )
My Dad inscribed our wedding bands with something they used at work to mark on pumps:D
Though our engagement rings were inscribed by the jeweller.
All our engraving is nothing fancy.
Though I think stores that just specialize in engraving do a really fancy job, you can pick fonts and such…while we were dating we got each other bracelets that were engraved in fancy font …

DH has my initials and wedding date and I have his initials and wedding date.
We have the same. 🙂 (There wasn’t room for anything else.)

I also had the date we got engaged engraved in my engagement ring. 🙂

We weren’t able to put anything in ours, besides, DH lost his at work so we had to have another one made… they are custom made 🤷 He works in construction and he forgot to leave it at home so it wouldn’t get pain or chemicals on it, he put it in his pocket and when he came out of the shower at home, he went to look for it to put it on and it was gone… so I guess it was good we didn’t engrave them. Well mine is too small for inscription and his well, after losing the first one, no way…

My band is too small for inscription.

I had my DH’s band enscribed *Totus Tuus Ego Sum *and the date.

It’s Latin for “I am completely in your hands” and was JPII’s motto.

Not a wedding band, but I bought my DH a ring that has, “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine,” from the Song of Songs on the outside. You can get them in silver or gold, and in Latin, English, or Hebrew. Some people use these as wedding bands.

That’s actually what I wanted for our bands but when dh bought my engagement ring, he got matching wedding bands to go with my ring. 🤷 Still like them, but I wanted those!

We simply have DH to DW and DW to DH & the date engraved in ours.

Popular around the time we got married was to engrave
  • qu’hier - que demain
This is shorthand for “Aujourd’hui plus qu’hier et bien moins que demain” a verse from a poem written by Rosemonde Gérard to her husband Edmond Rostand (he of Cyrano de Bergerac fame).
I love you “more today than yesterday and much less than tomorrow.”

**Initials are nice, my dh and I had that, but then I lost my original engagement ring. The new ring I have now, doesn’t have an inscription.

My mom and dad had inscriptions. Their initials, the word forever, and the wedding date…then, I lost my dad’s wedding band last year. My sister had it all those years in a hope chest, and gave it to me. I wore it on my thumb, and it must have slid off without me knowing it. Makes me so sad to know that I was so careless.

But, anyways…is congratulations in order? Are you getting married soon?🙂 **

We have “2 make 1” and the date in ours. It was the title of a poem my hubby wrote me when we were engaged.

My husband and I have “TWO BECOME ONE” inscribed on the inside of each of ours. Mine is 3mm wide (his is wider), but I can’t remember if we got platinum or white gold.

Didn’t even think to put the date - oops! I guess I figured we’d remember it (and we have so far - five years and getting better every day)!

I just got engaged and we are year off from our wedding so we’ve been thinking about this a bit! 😃 Here are a few of our ideas:
  • Our initials are PLS so we were thinking “PLS (Wedding Date)” or something involving our initials.
  • A running joke of ours is instead of being on cloud nine in love we’re in love on PLuto (since our first names are P and L lol) so we’ve thought “On PLuto forever” or “I ❤️ PLuto”. We’re of the belief Pluto is still a planet! 😛
  • We also like the idea of “1 Corinthians 13”, “Living 1 Corinthians 13”, or something else that incorporates the verse.
I really like the idea of “I am my beloved’s and my beloved’s is mine”. I need to suggest that one! We may not end up engraving anything depending on how much it costs so we’ll see. I think whatever you engrave it needs to be personal and meaningful. 😉

I put “I X my heart” from the George Strait song - on my wife’s ring and she had “I love and I hope” from Thomas Jefferson on my ring.

we barely had enough to buy the bands, inscription cost more so we did not pay for it ($30 for 2 gold bands 40 yrs ago at JB Robinson in Cleveland). Mine had to be cut off when I was pregnant and never got it fixed or replaced. 4 kids, 2 mortgages, dog & cat, yeah I’m married who needs a ring to prove it.

DH has on the inside of his: MY BELOVED IS MINE…

and mine says: …AND I AM HIS.

My husband had his band engraved with “Katie is the only one…” and I had the same with his name engraved. It’s a nice reminder of what marriage must always be about. Good luck.

I had a few things in mind for DH’s ring, but what I chose was “What God has joined cannot be divided”. Besides the fact that I really liked it 🙂 it is also in the Nuptial Blessing so everytime I hear it at a wedding it makes me smile  My rings were too narrow to engrave so he didn’t have to dream something up for it.
