The other thread about trashing wedding gowns got me thinking it would be fun for everybody to post a pic of them on their wedding day.

I’ll post mine in a little bit. Gotta dig it up and their in the bedroom that ds is sleeping in right now…

Okay, I don’t mind embarrassing myself…😃

Circa: 1987 - my godmother (who is no longer with us) made the dress for me. Check out the headgear and the hair-do! Yikes!

I’m standing with my aunt, who also passed away last year. Please pray for her (she was away from the Church when she left…)

it looks much better on her than it will ever look on you.😉

I don’t have any digital pictures of my gown, and my scanner is currently on the fritz  , but I do have the designer’s original photo.

I added a long-sleeved bolero jacket to the dress, because although my parish permitted strapless gowns, I did not feel comfortable bearing my shoulders at Mass. :o I’m weird, I guess.

My favorite parts of the dress were the lace-up back and the embroidery.

I love the small jackets over the gowns. i don’t think that i would feel comfortable wearing a complete strapless gown in church…Well who knows…I am not dating anyone so maybe my opinion will change…

man do we have some stunning brides.

Tonks - handmade? What a craftswoman she was. That is an amazing dress…the sleeves, the lace overlay. You are gorgeous.

I agree!

It is so interesting to finally be able to put faces with the names! 🙂 I wish I had some digital wedding photos to share with you all! Maybe I can get some scanned in later…

Mine was halter and I also added a boler jacket for the wedding (3/4 sleeve) and took it off for the reception. I was lucky mine came with a matching bolero jacket and shawl. I didn’t like the short sleeves on the bolero so I had someone add 3/4 sleeves to the bolero from the shawl 🙂

Here are the pics on the companies web site for my dress (not me 🙂 ):

I’ll take up any opportunity to show mine off!! I didn’t really WANT strapless, but I put that aside because I loved the dress so much. Here it is in the store, 8 more months till I have a wedding pic 😃
