Oh ok, my apologies I thought you were a faithful Catholic. I didn’t notice your “cheesian” religious affiliation in the profile until today lol.
I once was.
It’s ironic to me that you find the hairsplitting in this thread ridiculous, because in fact you are the only one who’s splitting hairs. 😉
:p:D:rotfl:

I was trying to answer in a form that Catholics would understand. My own philosophy is this (and I think that it is pretty simple):

Any consensual sexual act between married partners is okay.
Any non-abortive birth control is okay.
There is actually no"gray area" when it comes to the morality of ABC for Christians.
Are you leaving all the protestant congregations out of the discussion? They’re christian and allow birth control…

Hello. I am getting married this upcoming July. My fiance and I have talked a lot about our expectations and desires for our physical relationship. We have not had intercourse, but do engage in physical activity. We are both finishing school and do not want to start a family for a few years. We are both catholic. We have talked about family planning and contraception. Although it is a hard decision to make and we both believe that contraception is not preferable, we decided that as of right now we will use birth control at least for our wedding night and the honeymoon. After that we plan to use NFP.

We have abstained from sex for nearly 6 years now and want to have sex on our wedding night, but do not want to get pregnant. Is it possible to do this without using contraception if NFP cycle doesn’t match up with our wedding night? Any advise/simalar experiances from married couples would be greatly appreciated. Don’t be afraid to be critical or voice your opinion. Thank you.
I’m confused. When you marry in the Catholic Church you are saying that you are open to procreation. However, you and your future husband have both agreed to be closed to that on the day/night of your wedding. Seems to me that this could be used in the future for grounds in a petition of nullity. I hope that you come to make the right choice here. This is a sacrament and should not be viewed any other way.

You are correct. They may have experienced a sibling relationship, they probably have experienced a platonic dating relationship, they may have experienced a sexual non-marital relationship, they have experienced friendship.

All of which, however, are completely different from a sexual marital relationship. Very, very few priests have experienced this. There are exceptions, though.

You are correct, not everyone can do martial arts - primarily because they haven’t experienced the training. 😉 As I have detailed above, the sexual marital relationship is completely different from the experience of any other relationship.

Oh, just for clarity, I’ve experienced both sides of all issues - I spent 4 years in seminary, am now married, and I’ve just started martial arts training.
I’d like to thank you… for leaving the seminary.

It is praiseworthy that you have waited until your wedding night, but it still seems that you have a contraceptive attitude. Marriage should always be open children; they are a blessing. True, it might be unwise to have children at certain times, but then again God never asks us to do something without providing us the means. Being married, you have many graces flowing from the sacrament.
