Quick question on music. Is the gloria patri usually said/sung after the psalm at a catholic wedding?

My fiance and I are getting married in an Anglican Church, her sides Catholic, I’m Anglican so I want to make sure certain things are maintained throughout.

Also to clear up the inevitable questions regarding the wedding. yes we are received all the correct dispensation from the Catholic Church, we’ve gotten the ok from everyone on that side and in fact her families priest will be performing the prayers section of the liturgy after the marriage.
Thanks

EDIT: can someone also provide a link that has the full text of the Catholic Sacramental ceremony without Eucharist?

Not sure if this is accurate…

You can ask from the parish of your spouse. You would only need the Rite of Marriage/Matrimony which is just the wedding rites itself. The Eucharist is part of the Mass, but the Rite of Matrimony can be performed outside of Mass, usually when one of the parties is not Catholic.

Thanks, looking at it, it is identical in form so thats easy. Does anyone know about the Gloria Patri?

Since the wedding is held at your church with dispensation, I suspect you may follow the Anglican custom. You should probably ask your pastor for details.

This is the correct approach:

But this is the answer to your question:
It is not usually said/sung after the Responsorial Psalm.
Assuming you mean the Latin Rite (Roman Catholic) and and the current Rite of Marriage.

It would only be recited or sung if the wedding was happening at a Sunday Mass, or on a Holy Day of Obligation. At least, that was the answer I got last year when I created our wedding programs with the Gloria in them, and our priest and deacon told me to take it out. Though, I agree with others - follow the custom of the Anglican service since that is where the wedding is being held and you have the proper dispensations.

Congratulations on your wedding!

no, the Gloria Patri is not usually said/sung after the psalm at a Catholic wedding (or any Mass).

Actually, Gloria Patri is the Glory Be (which the OP asked about inserting after the Responsorial Psalm during the Liturgy of the Word). Normally, we don’t say it in any Mass. Since you brought up the Gloria (in the Introductory Rite), that depends on the priest you ask.

When we submitted our program to our priest for approval, he noted we omitted the Gloria and required us to insert it. Our wedding was on a Saturday. 🤷

The Gloria Patri is typically the last verse of the introit and communion propers. Unfortunately, many parishes do not use the propers, substituting hymns or songs instead, so many Catholics are not familiar with its use during Mass.

My understanding was that the Gloria would only be sung at a wedding if the wedding day fell on a feast or solemnity. For example, a friend of mine was married the Saturday after Easter a couple of years ago. Since the wedding day fell within the Octave of Easter, it was considered a solemnity, and the Gloria was sung.

I had forgotten about the propers. Thanks for the reminder.

Our wedding was the day before Pentecost (midday - not evening) so he may have been focusing on that.
