I’m sorry if my post came off as judgmental or anything like that. That was not my intention. I was only trying to make a simple point. Again, sorry if it came out wrong!Whoa please put the pitch forks down…Thank you all for your replies, I’m sorry if I’m sounding judgmental, believe me I have not lived a saintly life and lived with someone before I came home again, I really do wish them the best. I am just ignorant of what I’m supposed to do in this situation. I fully know the family and situation and know they have lived together for some time. I will then attend the wedding. I just honestly wasn’t sure if I was allowed. Thank you all for clearing this up for me. We live in modern times and honestly I don’t know what the rules are for this. As far as wanting a traditional perspective on it, believe it or not there are Catholics who think its ok to live together and use birth control that’s why I wanted a traditionalist angle on this. Thank you all for your help
You have said that they own their home. Do they still have a mortgage? Can they afford to have one of them move out and set up housekeeping in another place? She has a son from another relationship. Is her soon to be husband acting as Dad for this child? Would it hurt the child to have “Dad” move out? Whose name is on the mortgage/deed? That might determine who should move out. Maybe since it isn’t reasonable for either of them to move out, they are sleeping in separate beds.I’ve never been married in the Catholic church but from what I know there is a long learning process that couples go through which is why I’m confused the priest didn’t make them correct their living situation, at the very minimum they are living under the same roof
