Weeding Vows and Readings

Am trying to help someone who is organising the renewal of vows for his parent’s Golden Wedding this week.

We have just discovered that neither the Vows or the Readings are given in the Missals used in the UK

Please would someone tell me what the readings are - Biblical refs. will do for that - but we do need the actual Vows if any one can type them up for for us

I really need to have these by Monday evening if at all possible so the Orders of Service can be prepared for printing on Tuesday.

My apologies for the short notice we had not expected to have these problems - the officiating Priest is not English first language but the Service will be - and we are giving him everything ready for use.

Their only allowed between two gardeners!
 
The following information is for a wedding ceremony. I don’t know whether the renewal of vows is different.

The wording of the vows can be found at marysadvocates.org/syllabus/RiteMarriage.html .

The following Gospel readings are suggested elsewhere on the website, but you will have to look them up in the Bible or Lectionary:

PhilotheaZ - thank you so very much - we have the suggestions for the actual Renewal of Vows - it is in the Missal.

I was not married in the RC Church so had no idea if there was a difference in the wording of the Vows . Believe it or not 43 years on I can still say the Vows I made at my Marriage.

Now my mate can get on with making up the Order of Service - he expresses his gratitude to you…

As you see in my own response, typos are so easy to do.
I’m always so serious on these forums. I just had to take the opportunity for that.
 
Ephesians 5:20-33. Not very popular but fitting for some. It was said at my our blessing by the Church. Tim

Ther Readings chosen were in fact

Ephesians 5: 20-33

John 2 1:11

And they were separated by a short Antiphon

Fill us with your love, O Lord , and we will sing for joy all our days. may the goodness of the Lord be upon us. and give success to the work of our hands

The vows which will be used are very traditional - which I suspect were those made by the Couple themselves

I, N., take you, N., for my lawful wife (husband), to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

Hopefully there will be no complaints
