Weekday Low Mass

Lately I’ve been wanting to begin attending the EF regularly. There’s a church near where I work that has Low Mass at 8am, but I have to be at work by 9. How long might I expect the typical Low Mass to run on a weekday?
 
30-40 minutes, depending on length of readings and number of communicants.
 
It also depends whether or not the priest starts on time too. 😃 Last night out 7:00 low Mass got out closer to 8:00.

If it’s an early morning Mass, you could be out in 20 minutes because there are often less communicants.

I’m not speaking of the EF, but our weekday Masses typically are never on time. I find it unconscionable when it happens over and over as some have to leave without Mass or Communion when they realize they will be late for other appointments if they wait.
 
My parish’s 8am Low Mass is 29 to 35 minutes long depending on the priest. Skipping the Leonine Prayers would take off another 2 minutes if I was running late.
 
Rich C, judging by the fact that you’re in the Archdiocese of Washington, I feel there’s a good chance you and I are talking about the same church, so that’s good to know. Thanks!
 
What the others said is average. 30 minutes w/o communicants, 40 with. Every priest is a little different.

How much time does it take you to get from church to work? The Mass times have been answered correctly.

If the time is too close perhaps your employer would adjust your schedule slightly.
 
Timing shouldn’t be a problem. It’ll be cutting it close, but I think I can get there. Even if I’m a couple minutes late on some Fridays, I don’t think it’ll be too big of a deal. A risk of a slightly shorter lunch break beats out missing the EF 😉

I find the walk slightly shorter from the Judiciary Square station than from Gallery Place, btw. And you don’t have to walk into the morning sun.
 
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. Is that walk just shadier at that time of day, or do you cut through a hotel or something?
 
Yeah, it does look easier on Google Maps (after I realized that the station’s a block and a half closer than Google says it is. :banghead:) Thanks again for the tip!

No problem. Just be sure to turn to your left as you exit the train; there are two exits to street level.
