Well…crepes and Brenda’s hatch chili bake won, but we didn’t end up doing any breakfast at all because 3 of the 4 of us were coughing our lungs up all weekend and still are. Fevers too.

I’m hoping next Sunday we can try again.👍

oh my gosh, really? I really loved them. They were samples at Publix yesterday, and dd and I tried them…we were like…huh? These are veggie patties? Yummo. I think they’re good for a change. I also like Jennie-O. 👍
I think I’m just a freak. My carnivorous husband likes the veggie sausage, as does my fully omnivorous best friend (a human, not a pet). I’m betting my male cat would eat it if we’d let him, he’s been known to eat soy bologna and come back for seconds.

What does Debbie make for breakfasts for you guys…opps I mean y’all

Usually grits and bacon biscuits, but she won’t tell me the recipe.

Don’t know that I would want those but I don’t like grits, I am truly not a Southern gal but if I could use turkey bacon and wheat free flours I would probably like the biscuits!

I just tried making Migas (from this recipe) and they were delicious!

I am always up for new breakfast ideas. I’m getting tired of pancakes and eggs!

Well because this is a food thread lemme tell y’all the latest. LOL.

I keep fogetting to pick up pot pies at the store and Debbie is fussing about it. We share the grocery shopping responsibility, I kinda like it, cause she’s subject to get the wrong stuff.

She likes pot pies when she comes home for lunch, she’ll call me to put one in the oven so it will be ready when she gets here. But lately when she calls I tell her we don’t have any, and then I get scolded.

Well last night we went to Wal Mart and bought triple digiits in groceries (we only go once a month for the main haul)

We got back to the house and was putting stuff away. I said, “dang this is a lotta food for TWO people.”

“well we were out of alot of stuff you only buy every once in while.”

Then she noticed, “WE don’t have any pot pies! I told you to around to the frozen foods, and pick some up!”

“well I was but somebody called me and distracted me, so I just got the ice cream sandwiches and left.”

She huffed and puffed, and we finished up.

“Now you’re all upset, don’t fuss at me”

“I wish you’d pay attention when I’m tawkin”

So this morning I went back out to Wal Mart and bought FIFTEEN pot pies. They were 58 cent a box. LOL. She only likes chicken so that was all I bought.

I came home laughing and stuffed them in the freezer. Our freezer is just the kind over of the fridge. Not very big. Anyways I had to shoe horn in there with all the other stuff. I even had to put some in the ice thing. If you open the door they fall out. “That’ll show her. I don’t wanna hear anything about NO pot pies for the next year.”

I had to hold them back while I shut the door, and I was still laughing. I’m not gonna say anything just gonna let her open the door and see this-

Oh no, it will not be funny when Debbie opens the freezer and out flying come the pot pies.

I have a similar problem but that is because we had to empty out our freezer and put everything in the little freezer over the fridge as DH has not yet fixed the hydro in the garage where the freezer is 😦 cannot even open the garage (automatic opener needs hydro) luckily cars were outside. Sorry for the rant …has been almost 4 weeks …my Dad says run an extension cord from house to garage so that we can use the freezer …will get around to it.

You do realize the crusts will crack when they fall all over the floor and then she’ll be doubly mad because who wants a cracked crust pot pie sheesh. 😛
