**‘BIG BAND JUMP’ **is a two-hour weekly radio program of Big Bands and Vocalists of yesterday and today, featuring both original and later Swing music, with background information. Hosted by Don Kennedy.
For those who like to Swing instead of Rock.😃

Some of the great music of the Big Band Era featured on past programs:
October 20-21, 2012
JERRY GRAY LEGACY
Jerry Gray is the one who arranged Artie Shaw’s BEGIN THE BEGUINE and Glenn Miller’s IN THE MOOD and STRING OF PEARLS. He’s the one who went overseas with the Miller Military Band to continue to supply quality originals and arrangements. His background and musical legacy is presented in words and music in this semi-biographical program recalling the considerable contributions of an often forgotten musical hero.

TOP TWENTY INSTRUMENTALS
From a survey based on Billboard Magazine charts, record sales and airplay we’ve assembled a program of the all-time top twenty instrumental recordings. We stress that the survey is based on the broad general popularity and sales of a recording, thus does not always reflect artistic quality or pure artistry. (An article about this survey is elsewhere in this issue.) It’ll be interesting to get reaction to such a program, for strong opinions about the numerical status of artists and titles are often displayed by listeners.

THE ‘R’ FILE
When we re-visit the alphabetical files, we discover emerging artists who are true to American standards, artists who are dedicated to keeping those standards in front of the public. The newer performances are combined with what are often pure originals to create a pleasing combination of sounds while introducing us to some names just rising above the horizon.
A new ‘Big Band Jump’ radio program is can be listened to every Wednesday online by playing the file:

The radio show’s host, Don Kennedy, also has a second radio program called the ‘Don Kennedy Show’ which also features Big Band Era music and can be listen to at the website as well…

Thanks for spreading the word.

I’ve been listening to that show for more than 10 years and I love it!😃
