Dear Alex, you are in my prayers. Please pray for me, too!Thank you all for your prayers, Today is the first day Ive started to eat a complete healthy diet and eat less I will continue eating healthy foods and start to exercise.
I second that sentiment. Kathy. Phase4 seems to not understand the factors leading to morbid obesity, and its consequences on the human body. Weight loss cannot be achieved for those who have a genetic tendency toward being overweight. Or who are 80-100 pounds overweight. Very low calorie diets fail most of the time, because it causes the body to hoard instead of expend energy to burn the excess fat. It is not as easy as watching calories and exercising. I too have had a constant battle with the scale in my life, and am needing gastric bypass to cause my body to use up the fat it stores unnecessarily. Vanity has nothing to do with weight loss, but more to do with preservation of one’s own life. Being obese leads to cancer and an early death. I will pray for the op’s health to improve and for the op to find some sort of medical help in achieving the goal of weight loss. Hang in there you two!Weight loss is no longer simply vanity. I have struggled with weight for most of my 66 years and am preparing for the lap band surgery. This is not vanity. This is a medical necessity as I am suffering from diabetes, osteoarthritis and asthma which have curtailed activity and involvement in ministry, family life and enjoying my grandchildren. I have prayed through the years for help with this. The roller coaster of loss/gain continued. A local pastor has criticized those who ‘diet’ during Lent. I always endeavored to offer my daily food sacrifices for the benefit of others, Lent or not,. I resented his opinion that to want to be ‘thin’ meant vanity/sin rather than a serious and spiritual effort to care for the body that God has given me…albeit later and not always successful
