Weird Al's "Amish Paradise": offensive much?

I’m a Mennonite (theologically similar to Amish, but we don’t reject technology to any degree near the Amish). I’ve seen it, and don’t consider it offensive. It’s actually a decent look at how the Amish actually live.
 
Funny, I was thinking of this very same song when I logged in today. 😃
 
My favorite Weird Al song is “Everything You Know is Wrong,” where he dies and has to spend eternity in the room next to the noisy ice machine. 😃

I guess the OP hasn’t watched “White and Nerdy,” a parody of Chamillionaire’s “Ridin’ Dirty.”

There are worse things. And you don’t really have a right to be offended seeing as such a right would impose on someone else’s freedom of speech.

Don’t worry about it, like it, hate it, walk away from, embrace, its not grave matter and not mortal sin.
 
Confession time:

I have every single “Weird Al” Yankovic album. And I’ve seen him in concert about 10 times, at least. And I’ve gone backstage and met him in person. Three times. And I went to AlCon in 1999. And I have his book from 1984. And he sat in my lap and gave me a scarf during ‘One More Minute’ on the “Running with Scissors” tour (twice). And I saw “UHF” when it was in theaters for that one weekend in 1989. And my recessional song at my wedding was “Fun Zone” from the soundtrack for “UHF” (no, I was not married in a Catholic church). And I have an autograph that I got in 1987 that says, “To my first wife, love ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic”.

I’ve overshared, haven’t I?

That being said, I think the only songs that can even be relatively close to sinful would be “Wanna B Ur Lovr” from ‘Poodle Hat’ and maybe a couple of the songs in the polka medleys that he didn’t write but he parodied (think “Papa Don’t Preach”, but in a polka.) Oh, and seeing Al perform “Germs” live was pretty much a near occasion of sin. I think his last album, though, was pretty weak. Then again, I’ve found that as I get older, and as I don’t listen to the music that he’s parodying, they have become less and less relavent to me.

I will always, always rock out to “Albuquerque”, though. Always.
