Weird Night Terror and Sins

Hi there,

I’m battling sins of impurity, and last night I was having a night terror, and in my dream I committed a sin of impurity, and I woke up and my hand where it shouldn’t have been. I certinaly did not give any consent to this because I was asleep the entire time, and I’m not even sure if anything really happened. I was very afraid because I felt spiritually attacked, so I said a Hail Mary and St. Micheal prayer and fell back asleep and everything was fine. My question is, should I go to Confession? Also I’d appreciate your prayers. I’m very troubled about this.

If someone were to take your hand and force you to stab another human being… do you believe you would be at fault?

This was involuntary. The moment you realized what happened you stopped. You had no control of your dream. You have no control of what your body does while you’re unconscious. Let it go. Shake it off. Give it to God in prayer. Carry on.

If it still bothers you do talk to your priest and ask for some guidance with how to overcome this.
