Hey everyone
Code:
I know this is a weird question for here. But I want some opinions and I know that yall will give them lol. I am choosing what color scheme I am going to put on the project Camaro that I am going to start.
I want it to look tuff and bold and intimidating. I am thinking I am going to paint it black with lime green racing stripes and green neon lights under the car(the neon lights will ONLY be used at the drag strip and car shows). How do yall think that will look?

**Well, since this isn’t the back fence and I did see your post, I’ll answer;)

I think what you suggest sounds just ok…maybe a little boring though. Are you set on the neon lights for the under side? Do they come in other colors?

If you like the green, what about using a midnight navy color instead of black?

I really like metallic type paints on cars if you get the ones that don’t look tacky. You into that?

I think a deep green (think camo) with orange stripes and lights would ROCK!

Or a medium tan (like khaki pants) with orange and/or deep green accents would be manly too.

I am not set on the neon. At this point the only thing set is that it will be a Camaro lol. I also thought about Black with silver strips with red accent lines along the edges of the racing strips and red neon (or no neon)

Hmm, like Malia, since you posted here, I’ll give my opinion :D.

Personally, something in either dark blue, almost black, with silver or white stripes would be cool, or in a really dark red - dried blood red with silver or white stripes. If you do this then you could go with white neon lights! Way cool. If you could get a blood red paint with some sparkle in it would even be better!

Ooo, I was going to suggest something with green… I think your choices will look hawt…👍

If you use green, be sure to only drive the car during Ordinary Time 😃

What year is your Camaro? That will have a lot do to with how you paint it. Got any pics you can post? I would love to see it.

Also, for some reason the first time I read your post I missed the part about the Camaro and I thought you wanted to look “tuff, bold and intimidating”. 😃

I have not got the Camaro yet. Its still in the planning stages. But I want a late 80’s or early 90’s model.

Why late '80s or early '90s when you can have a cool '67??

When you do get your car, check under the hood for the paint code so if you want to keep it historically accurate you will know what paints to use. Historically accurate top to bottom boosts resale value.

Well this is just my first project. So I am wanting one thats not rusted out. I plan on doing a 69 model someday (which is my fav year) but I want a simpler project first.

I like red, and red 99% of the time shows tuffness!! LOL…just my opinion… 🤷

Beware any classic painted (re-painted) red: red covers a myriad of sins in the body. This is why it’s called “Resale Red” - because a sitting duck will be drawn to the power and verve of red, and s/he will go for it hook, line and sinker.

I would personally not go for a Camaro from the late 80’s or early 90’s. You will dump a lot of money into something that is really not a classic and will not give you as good a return. Cars from that time period are also more of a challenge to work on if you don’t really know what you are doing than earlier models. If you want a ’69 which is the best body they ever made on a Camaro, I would go straight for that. I am actually looking for a 68 or 69 body without a drive train right now. I have a 454 that I want to drop in it. I am planning on painting mine metallic Shelby blue with white racing stripes.

personally paint doesn’t make a car look tough or intimidating…
larger then stock hood scoops
free flowing exhaust nice rumble(side pipes)
a motor that barely sounds like it can idle even though it is running at 900rpm or better(mine can’t idle under 900rpm or it will stall)
good rims with some big booties out back.
a spoiler on the rear deck.these things in my opinion are what makes a car intimidating.
stick with the mid 80’s is my choice, two tone, mettalic blue on top with a silver blue on bottom.
