I would like to welcome Eastern Orthodox Christians since their main forum Eastern Christianity was closed but made available in the Archives.

I would hope that those Christians lacking any Apostolic Succession would respect them as much as Catholic Church. These two Churches have its origins with the Apostles and they are ancient.

I am willing to protect our Eastern Orthodox brothers and sisters, (as if they were my own) if their beliefs and liturgy is distorted in everyway.

Hello,

:rotfl:
When I saw the title of this thread, I pictured a tourist bus pulling up. 😃

Thanks.

I was totally shocked by the boot we received earlier today. I was starting to get some really good answers - I would have printed them out had I any idea Theresa was going to delete everything.

If anyone has Early Church Father quotes which prove the current Catholic view of Papal Supremacy (rather than Primacy) please let me know as I’m continuing (or will at least attempt to) to research this.

Hello,

Thank you for greeting us again…in the non-catholic subforum:)
I don’t think orthodoxy belongs here since the Catholics consider the Orthodox Church their sister church…

God bless!
Stefania

I don’t believe OE don’t belong here either. I think most NCR lack the liturgical gifts that the Eastern Christians can give. Though, the EOC is not in communion with Pope in Rome, I admire them for keeping Apostolic Succession, Liturgy, and keeping the Seven Sacraments, which we CC recognized to be valid.

That may be the official Catholic stance: The Other Lung or Sister Church, but it doesn’t mean *all *Catholics believe or practice it.

We got the boot, but at least they’re willing to allow us a place here even if we have been downgraded in place. It happens to Orthodox all over the world by Catholics, why shouldn’t it happen here too? Makes us even more connected to the sufferings of our Orthodox brothers and sisters in a way.

This doesn’t belong in Non-Catholic religions. I’d really like to avoid the typical protestant BS here.

Let’s see if we can restore the original EC forum in addition to its new replacement.

Forgot to add: I just hope I’ll get the answers I’m looking for.

We still consider you our brothers and sisters of the Lord but not in communion with the Holy See.

I asked this morning for exactly that, but have not received any response. The Founder of this Thread also asked, but was given the answer that they don’t have the resources for provide a forum for Orthodox Christians.

We can start by promoting your Liturgy. 😃

The original EC forum was the best for me. It was free from the protestant challenges that I face on a daily basis. It was a place where we could explore our history with like-minded brethren (the Orthodox)

The Traditional forum turns into either an SSPX site or whining about Latin-only stuff.

I’ll should put this in my signature, but I am seeking more education on Church history and more reverence in our Catholic Church today.

Mannyfit,

Thank you for supporting the Orthodox. I really appreciate your stand on this. God bless you!

I have to say my interest in Eastern Christian has lead me to support those who are Apostolic but not in Communion with Rome. I respect them for keeping their Traditions and being Orthodox in their belief.

You probably know I have discernment to become a priest and also the discerning to consider switching my Rite from Latin to Eastern Rite…

I agree. The EO doesn’t really belong here. Granted, the EO aren’t Catholic, but they’re not Protestant. They’re a part of the Apostolic Church. Anyway, I agree with the latter statement.

Wow,

I will pray that God will give the faith and strength you need in pursuing your goal.
I just want to say that you were not the only one who learned so much about Orthodoxy. Even though I was born orthodox, I was very happy to find an Eastern Christisnity subforum here…I learned very much myself from the Orthodox, as well as from Catholics.

God bless!
Stefania

Ah, a loop-hole! Orthodox can discuss on the “non-Catholic” forum…😃

Prayers and petitions,

No one can stop them from coming to NCR but themselves. As long as they part take in the discussion.

Thank you for this invitation, Mannyfit. However, I’m currently wondering whether I should join in a forum for “non-Catholics.” I am an Orthodox Catholic and I am offended that the moderators on this Forum have decided that legitimate Orthodox concerns with the Roman Catholic Church rank alongside those of Protestants and even non-Christians. The leaders on this site claim allegiance to the Pope of Rome, but their action of using the strong arm of moderation to ensure that a special forum for us to address our concerns doesn’t exist, doesn’t imitate the actions of recent Popes who have made it a point to claim that the Orthodoxy is the “sister Church” to Catholicism. This obvious chasm between Papal example and the actions of the leaders of this forum leaves me confused and hurt.

God bless,

Adam
