Chapels can be large or small and can be freestanding or part of a building (like a day chapel in a church) and may be associated witha seminary, hospital, shrine, school,monastary etc. They are not the same as a parish church. The FSSP parishes serve the Diocese they are in, I believe, and are under the Bishop of that Diocese. They are listed as a Diocesean parish in my Diocese and their building is a church, not a chapel.

I love my parish, which does offer the EF every Sunday and has some minor traditional elements (brick by brick style ) but if I had the opportunity to belong to an FSSP parish I would attend period.

Not sure how far from Dayton Ohio you live Ohiomom, but they have an FSSP parish there called Holy Family. www.daytonlatinmass.org We’ve made the treck from Columbus and it is well worth it.

There is also an FSSP parish, Queen of the Holy Rosary, in Vienna, Ohio, north of Youngstown in Ashtabula County which is a part of the Diocese of Youngstown.

FSSP in the Diocese of Syracuse celebrates the TLM in Elizabeth Seton Chapel, which is on the grounds of/part of the adjoining facilities to the merged Our Lady of Guadalupe-Sacred Heart Church. The last time I was there, the OF parishioners and the EF attendees were meeting at the same time, but in different buildings on the same grounds.
