This is the female child version of a well known British PSA (they did a male child version as well). The man doing the voice over is in a lot of British adverts and PIFS from this period.

 
Hey OP, I noticed this is your third thread on Public Service Announcements. What’s the big fascination you have with them?

Although I think I may have posted it on one of your past threads, here’s the other anti-drug one I remember from childhood. Turn the sound on…

 
Since we are talking about drug PSAs here is the most memorable one for me. I have no idea if it “worked”, but my friends and I thought it was hilarious.

 
The Smokey Bear ones make me sad given the long history of forest mismanagement (and utility and development mismanagement) we are now dealing with in the form of devastating fires.

Very true, though I think it was still very powerful. I think it’s the music that really sells it for me.

Another one that was powerful was the Yul Brenner anti-smoking PSA:

 
I knew this one would show up, but I prefer the one with Rachael Leigh Cook. I had a huge crush on her after that. I still kinda do.
 
Here is another British PSA that went viral when it was release in 2010 for it’s sheer beauty and emotional artistry. It has has over 20 million views on YouTube. It was notable for the short development time and limited budget. There are no spoken words. I have watched it numerous times and I still get chills watching the slo-mo expressions on the actors’ faces.

Is the dad the guy from the old fed ex commercials the spoke very fast?
 
You’re thinking of John Mischitta (sp?). Yul Brenner was a famous actor in things like “The Magnificent Seven” and “The King and I”.

I know Yul Brenner. 😀

I mean the guy from the, “ I learned it from watching you!” PSA. I always thought he didn’t look the type to be a stoner. He looked more like a three martini lunch guy.
